Working for Absa helped me grow as a person through all the different types of personalities one crosses. The learning curves developed alot of things ....confidence...working hard...

Eager to learn and out in extra time
I have been working for a Financial Adviser for 10 years. I have experience in making appointments, managing his diary, face to face interaction with clients. I was the first person the clients meet in the office, Dealing with queries from clients and also Insurance and Investment Houses. Ordering stationary, and had 4 staff working under me. My strongest asset is that I am always willing to learn more about a product or a organization. I am neat and well spoken and always have the organization or clients best interest at heart. I am loyal and honesty is a very important character to have.

Learning, development and challenging
Managing a team of 6 and delivering a stringent assurance plan alongside adhoc requests from seniors keeps me on my toes. Constantly solving problems, putting out fires and being pulled into high-level discussions around finding lasting solutions to critical business gaps. Having direct access to senior stakeholders helps with the understanding strategic goals and the direction the business is heading. Working with people is a critical component, which I enjoy a lot, as it allows to me to piggy-back off colleagues, share ideas and reach a somewhat common ground. Constantly changing environment keeps me challenged to be a ahead of the game. Understanding and knowing our customers is a critical aspect of my work and helping business to be effective at it and to put controls that enable it is rewarding. I thrive on feedback, on being involved and finding lasting solutions to most pressings issues. Empowering teams to make decisions, and take confidence in their abilities to do so is key.

My relationship with my Co-workers
I enjoying Serving my Customers and working with my co-workers. The most challenging aspects of my job is dealing with calls especially end of the month. I have learnt that your customers are valued the same provided how much money they spent or use, i have to treat them with respect and honor.

A typical work day is very busy most of the days one can't plan their activities in advance. rocky relationships with minimal trust. I have learnt how to leverage of my colleagues strengths in order to meet desired outcomes by the client for example

FAST LEARNER
I am current working at Absa as intern its a very big company,good environment i have learn a lot.Able to work under pressure managing irate clients.resolving issues. I have made a good relationship with my colleagues,we always have team building after 3 months so we like a family now i feel i am in my comfort zone now so its a time to take a new challenge and grow in the work environment.

Experience,respected
I just want to check how much i worth now since was emplyoyed by bank.My day is always busy and speak to difficult clients.My relationship with my co-workers is fine because we doing well even with security guards and clieners.

My responsibilities at work
i work 5 days a week and saturday is optional. my role is a floor manager is to make sure that every client is following the right que and they leave the branch a happy client. i relate with my collegues in proffessionally in both business and personally. we learn from one another. i have learned that i need to respect clients as well as my collegues, do everything with intergrity, service the client with the best of my ability, excell in everything that i do and display leadership at all times and go an extra mile. i enjoy working with people as you learn from them and they also learn from you. you learn new things everyday of your life. the most challenging part of my job is to see the client quiry not being sorted out ASAP because it was reffered to the third party for resolution.

Been with Absa for 21 years. my career growth been a slow due to not been able to pay for my own studies. worked myself up from a bank clerk to a Business Analyst. I'm very loyal towards Absa, never had any issues regarding to co-workers. I enjoy my work as I work in the Change environment and learned all the business areas. I like constant change.

Explore new things and careers
relationship with co-workers is good , every day I try to achieve my targets some days are good some days are bad cause is a small town with not that much growth unemployed is high. it was a an exciting journey from being a teller , customer service clerk sales consultant and then acting as branch manager I've gain so much experience over these past years. I enjoy working with people and help our customer to the best of my ability and seeing a customer happy when he or she walking out the branch knowing that I've played a roll. reaching my target is very difficult sometimes
Pros: get great oppurtunity especially when you are a hard worker and you want to prove yourself
