Excellent for management development
The company offers numerous opportunities for growth and being one of the busiest hospitals in the group across SA, its high occupancies provides for continuous stimulation and challenges. I work with a diverse yet cohesive team where each team member plays an integral part in the effective running of the business. I enjoy interacting with other healthcare practitioners within the team as well as patients and their familes. The most challenging aspect of my job is attending to simultaneous deadlines whilst having to attend to urgent doctor, patient or staff related issues. Having to work with a team who shares your goals and visions ensures for a happy working environment.

Cons: Too many reports and too little time to spend on the floor with team and in the wards with nurses and patients

Overwhelming,
Good learning experience but not healthy, no work life balance, a lot of pressure.Too little time for anything, impossible deadlines and targets. Big challenges, less motivation for employees.

Worked my way up
I started as a datacapturer, then got promoted to consignment controller and finally got promoted to stock controller. I have 2 people working with me. We all work hard and things change daily. Having to work with doctors and nursing staff. The most difficult part is out of stocks. Having to source alternative when they are used to using what they are comfortable with.

Better me
Admiting patients creating existing &non existing files, missing with the doctors & medical aid to obtain authorisation send through confirmation, discharge, transfer and make stickers for each patient in the hospital,direct visitors to wards n various parts of the facility answer and transfer calls answer questions asked and give correct information book maternity beds for delivery dates make theatre list plan cases booked for future date sell parking,passport's meals, co payments and over due hospital accounts print statements, link new born babies to main member count petty cash, open casualty files with accuracy and speed, Multasking at all times working 12hoursa day 15days a month correcting errors of previous cases updating changes made to profile doing a electronic check list for each patient it is a job that unlocked the passion I had inside of me to make a sucess
Pros: Made me person who could show empathy understand the needs of others and GI the extra mile

It's interesting because I'm working in a Bariatric surgical ward
I'm working in a Bariatric surgical ward nursing different characters, I worked for the government for more than 10 years in a Primary Health care specialising in mother and child care.

Good working experience
Indeed working at netcare hospital it was a learning curve as also got an opportunity to be develop also being exposed to some procedures as working with cardiac patient and all cathlab conditions. Salary wise disaster we are not longer complaining as we told we are newly qualified nevermind experience you have. Environment is good though work load is too much as ur working with the most junior staff as a shiftleader you become responsible to the nurse and the patient if you you really opt to work in our unit you really need to be private orientated person know the coping mechanism otherwise you cant cope. There is a thing called KPI that is used for cost effective.
Pros: Working at netcare hospital there is a great development compare to my previous company is nice to work here besides daily pressures as you get used to it and adapt with the working pace .
Cons: As nurses we are working 12 hours shift as it is normal to do so

Excellent learning curve
I have good working relationships with workers. To work in diverse environment and in a specialised unit like Theatre is very challenging. Theatre complex is the largest department in the hospital with a total pool of staff of + - 55 members.
