Very academic and professional

Its a small but very demanding hospital,I work 12 hours, and over the years I have learnt a lot ,how to treat patients wich are paying clients, how to develop interpersonal skills and how to groom yourself, there is little room for growth perhaps due to the hospital being small,we almost know each other and are a small family

Pros: great experience
Cons: very long hours

Business is king

A typical work day starts by prayer in theatre. Afterwards all disperse to their own work station. It's tough to start with people running around looking for stock which is available to them. Co-workers needs upliftment in a form of appreciation, throw in a incentive to say thank you. What I learned from nurses are not available in study books or on the internet, but when you are working with them - you'll understand the importance of the right tool at the right time/place. What is enjoyable is the fact that you can work hard, putting in extra and returning to work the next day with a smile and joking about what happened the previously. Most challenging factor is to always keep the surgeons, nurses and unit manager happy.

Pros: none
Cons: not rumerated for overtime

Exposure to Morgan Transplant

We have a good working hours. I work office hours but I am always on call in case I need to I work after hours and weekends. I consult with patients, I see patients at the hospital or renal units, I go for monthly meetings to present cases that are ready to transplanted. I do doctor visits. Most of all I have to do admin which entails collecting reports from various service providers and then compile the transplant files. Every coordinator has their own specific functions. I love Interacting with patients and the their families. The challenge is that I am always on call and it's not easy to just take time off as someone has to be available to take over my duties in case there is a donor when I'm away.

Pros: Seeing a patient through their transplant
Cons: No room for growth, always bring on call

Excellent learning curve

On a normal day. I attend to staff and management queries. Placeadvertises on internet and intranet. Interview portential candidates, do payroll, go to union and transformation meetings, arrange upliftment events for staff, do rounds, work on stats, disciplinary hearings, staff consultations, advise and support managers to name a few of my duties. It can get a bit hectic at times but I have learnt so much. I love working with people even though they can get a bit challenging at times. This job gives me thd oppurtunity to help people whether its with giving them an ear to listen or advising them on how to handle work related issues. Its truly fullfilling.I work with a great team, they are supportive and honest. And they are my family, from the head of the department to the Nursing Services Manager to my assistant. They all have played animportant role in my career.

Pros: Great exposure and learning oppurtunities.
Cons: The emotional side of things

Medical receptionist with lots of extensive experience determined and adaptable, hard worker.

We a very busy department and for you to be at peace with your colleagues. What I have learnt is patience makes perfect and easy to go an extra mile. The most challenging aspects is when you get sworn at by a desperate patient or family members that don't have the authority to be admitted and want you to force situation even though they know their medical aid has exclusions.

Pros: medical receptionist or clerical
Cons: 40-42 hrs a week

Excellent learning experience in terms of dealing with clients and large amounts of data

A good company where you interact with new people directly or indirectly .On any communication they emphasize their behavioral values because you meet with and deal with different kinds of people. A day at work can start as early as 5 am and you find a system that has logs from different users to be helped with their queries , and on top you have your own projects that must be done from your team .hours are flexibly so by 13:30 you are out if you were in at 5: am . I have learn learnt the importance of client satisfaction and if the client is happy that brings most joy in me . the most challenging part of this job is on months ends , where you get lets 20 new reports logs from different managers and you must also do your projects from the team. So prioritization is the key and multitasking because month end reports are the most important for the hospital managers and they must be accurate for them to make decisions on the monthly running's of the hospital.

Pros: No its just to grow your technical experience
Cons: regular hour are 8.5 and further more is up to the employee (not payed for)or given in times where its needed (payed )
