Learning how to do cash allocations for our direct deposits
My primary role is New Business- I get to create a new group from the beginning, check if all the documents required are attached and if not request for the outstanding. Do Quality Assurance on members that have been captured and process them, within that I take calls from the brokers, franchise as well as clients. When New business is not hectic I help with cash allocations- once we've received a schedule from the employer for the money that is reflecting on the discovery account. Match it and send it for allocations. We work well as a team help each other when one is having too much work. I enjoy and love knowing that we work well as a team in ensuring that we meet the SLA and exceeding the clients expectations. Complex queries are the challenging part because you need to investigate cases that were done incorrectly by someone else but getting to resolving it is quite fulfilling.

Excellent experience and learning
The job description enables you to acquire alot of skill as I was hands on mostly on customer benefits,billing and claims,which is the general administration of the scheme. More skills learnt include communication, telephone etiquette and being able to handle difficult and irate members who may be unsatisfied with a process of their benefits.
Pros: Alot is learnt about the insurance industry. Lots of skills are gained are
Cons: Poor and unrewarding bonus structure. No 13th cheque. The work can be monotonous.

Working most of the time with new recruits
Discovery has taught me to be more responsible in terms of my work, to always strive for excellence and always exceed customers. The organization prides itself in Excellent service delivery to customers. A typical day at work would include reconciling accounts and maintaining relations with internal and external clients(brokers). My co-workers are the best, Discovery always hires great people however I feel that Management is more customer oriented and thus tend to ignore employees. I feel that they could do a lot better in terms of salaries/benefits.
Pros: Transfering calls meeting people Giving people Information that they want to know about Discovery. I enjoyed the environment very much I got to learn alot of things in the company.

Working for Discovery Health is a very interesting task, it has great work ethics and transparency
Working for Discovery Health is a very interesting task, it has great work ethics, transparency and easy access to team leaders and managers. Growth is something we see on a regular but it comes with its negative side. I have learnt how to use the paradigm software and general administrative aspects of the company. The negative side of things is the growth as transparency also exposes the inequality that is observed when appointing staff for new postion. This is not a trade i choose to carry but i have to say that race is an issue when it comes to promotions no matter how hard you work and how diligent you are. I am a very positive minded person and dont carry grudges as that is a set back. Ibring in vibrant energy in the office and see myself as an important asset to the company for growth

Excellent learning experience
I cannot take away the fact that i learned alot whilst working at Discovery but due to the different experience, I would not prefer to return. Discovery has beautiful values but unfortunately managment does not live out the Values set out for them or prescribed by the owner. Many Awesome staff the issues found remains with senior management, unfortunately the CEO or Senior Senior Execs is unaware of the day to day operations inside each department.
Pros: Variety of knowledge, great minds and always a learning experience

Excellent learning curve
I do everything for the broker she just go sign the documents my relationship with co workers is excellent and they love me i have learned alot from my previous job and nothing here I enjoy my jb if my salary was right but no one can survive on this is doing all the work and not getting any credit for it

Great learning curve, gained alot of experience
I enjoyed working with other people as we learned from each other and supported each other. Working at Discovery taught me how to manage time, working on my own, to think out the box and to believe in myself. What I enjoyed the most was the working environment. The most challenging aspects of the job was dealing with clients who can be very difficult but it taught me not to give up and also to be patient when working with people.

The area of growth is exponential.
I work with amazing people. Discovery really liberates its people and brings out the best in them. I've learnt that business is not just about the bottom line, but that people matter most in the success of the company. The management style at Discovery is mainly about leadership - ensuring that the leaders equip and upskill others to perform at their best. The most challenging, but also rewarding aspects of the job is seeing people leave to pursue their purposes in life.
