Excellent company, ruined by corporate red tape

BCX is an outstanding company and as Senior Manager I am tasked with the full business life cycle This has always been my dream post I am absolutely blessed with the pool of junior managers and engineers working with me to meet our targets which we have done for 3 years now. Since the inclusion into Telkom agility has become a thing of the past and just doing our jobs has become impossible to succeed with out breaking corporate rules Recent announcements as to denying annual increases and bonuses due to other BU's not making target has put a bad taste on working at BCX

Pros: Great team and good future prospects
Cons: Unfair blanket decisions regarding bonuses and increases, too much red tape

Excellent skills and experience

My Name is Lebogang Mogwase; I have more than 3 years working experience. I am a dedicated hard worker with lots of experience in different departments, ranging from Administration, Document Controlling, Sales, IT, etc. I can multi-task on different jobs and I'm always willing to learn new things. I can work both in a team and individual. During my past work experience, I was able to provide effective and efficient day-to-day operations of my job. Oversee the operations within the company, manage groups, coordinate with management and engage in planning according to the needs of the company. I was also able to manage all office equipment, maintaining a clean and enjoyable working environment, handling external and internal communication, perform all administration duties. Due to my outstanding performance, in 2017 at Business Connexions, I was promoted to a Cisco Services Technology Consultant. With this opportunity I was able to expand my knowledge in the IT Department.

Pros: Being able to work with different teams, we get to learn how they go about doing their day to day work.
Cons: WHen systems shut down and don't work, we are unable to be productive.

I have learned a lot regarding corporate way of doing things.

Typical work day - Monitor the systems that we have SLA agreements with. Do necessary correspondence and follow up on outstanding issues. Handle calls that may arise regarding SLA agreements. Continue with design or configuration work. Relationship with co-workers - I have a good relationship with most people, act as mentor for the junior staff. What have I learnt - Increased my PLC skills. What I enjoy most - Able to work flexi time. Most challanging aspects - Procurement processes and corporate red tape.

Pros: Need to skill myself more in PLC and design field.
Cons: 0% salary increase and MPC's that has no effect on remuneration.

Great Learning experience and growth

I currently work in the repairs department, this includes making sure the units are booked in timely for repairs and follow SLA's to meet targets. A typical work day includes following up with suppliers, creating quotes and sending them to clients for approval. booking back stock that is back from repairs and logging calls for returning the units to sites. It is a lot of work but not challenging for me now as it has become routine. Our team is small and we get along well, which then gets other teams enjoy working with us. We have even formed relationships outside the office. I used to be challenged with completing my call updates, ever since I created a working system for myself I have since enjoyed on it.

Cons: Not challenged enough.

Successfully accomplished delivering very high quality professional services

In current role as Lead Engineering Bigdata, I am 90% tech hands on starting from building and managing clusters including forecasting specific expansions, writing codes in Scala using Spark for Data engineering exercises. The rest 10% being spent in discussing requirements of the different internal customers (divisions), understanding and explaining the requirement to let them the understand the solution. Design integration with the application and warehouse solutions to plan data ingest and mapping it to the requirement. Having team meetings with the team members to discuss ideas and create data solutions. Sit and assist tech issues to drive feasible solutions. Drive vendor assistance to drive particular problems and also plan expansions. My team is very vibrant and motivated as they see different things almost every day and learn a lot from them.

Pros: Scope to do a lot more and improve further
Cons: Sometimes initiatives doesn't reach speed

They see numbers not people

The company has a strong structure and great growing potential but unfortunately they do not take care of their employees. The growth within the company is not based on the quality of the work delivered but on a bases of " who you know". Furthermore they do not cater for team motivation or development or team growth

I'm a hard working person that works very well with other people,goal driven with proven ability to adapt very easily. I believe I would be the best candidate for this position as I will be the best asset/employee the company can ever have.

Quoting invoicing , ordering Great communication ,working as teams Learnt people have their own working ways and you cant enforce what you want in teams. Enjoy learning everyday and learning about the business
