Great learning curve in IT

Working in my company is great flexible hours and the team that I'm working with, we share knowledge fairly. I've learnt that BATHO PELE principles as we serve Government Users. I enjoy working with users, you get to know colleagues when you troubleshooting over the phone. The challenges I face sometimes its when the network is congested and you cant remote to a users machine.

Pros: Good company when it comes to IT training and qualifications
Cons: Normal working hours "8hrs"

A great team team, leant so much

A bright, talented and ambitious IT support technician with a strong technical background who possesses self-discipline and the ability to work with the minimum of supervision. Having exposure to a wide range of technologies & able to play a key role in diagnosing hardware and software problems and to ensure that quality solutions meet business objectives. Possessing a good team spirit, deadline orientated and having the ability to organise and present complex solutions clearly and accurately. Looking for a suitable IT support technician position with a successful and dynamic company that offers room for progression.

Great learning curve

Ever since i joined BCX in 2016, I have worked in the Telkom Group Information Technology (TGIT) in Project Management Office as an administrator and moved to the SQA team where i am currently testing the Telkom Softwares.

Pros: Growth opportuinty
Cons: No promotion opportunity

Excellent learning curve

We provide I.T Support for different retail groups and other private companies including SAB, Shoprite-Checkers Group, Clicks Group, MR Price Group, Pick and Pay, Edcon, etc... I do a lot of travelling from Bloemfontein to other Northern regions like Kimberley, Upington, Vryburg etc... For I.T Support. We deal with Server configurations and installations, printer management, SCCM and Networking

Ready to move on and grow

I like my job, they have moved us from Telkom to BCX. BCX treatment is traumatizing, which is why I am thinking of looking for other opportunities. I have gained enough experience. I can be from Secretary to Office Manager. I am able to arrange travellings, meetings, refreshments, stationery and team buildings. Ms word, excel, powerpoint and Presentation.

Pros: This company is full of favouritism. I like to be a team member and I like to be treated like other employees not special or less.
Cons: Normal working hours

-help desk experience

-i am a good team player -we are working as a team, helping each other and by doing that i learn new things almost every day from the team members. -I have good relationship with my team members -i have learn on how to work with difficult client -i learn how to troubleshoot FNB terminals -i learn how to connect to the site remotely and work on their computers -i enjoy to resolve to see my self resolving call by trouble shooting over the phone, instead of sending technician. -when site is down, and you can't connect to the site remotely

Pros: with my qualification i can work on different IT department, eg: IT support, Technical support, programming
Cons: 9 hours

It was a good learning curve.

I have learned a lot working for this company. My relationship with my fellow team members was excellent. We share knowledge all the time and assist each other when struggling with certain technical issues. I have learned how to deal with difficult customers and how to always leave a good memorable customer experience. My clients always comes first, and I always feel great when I see a happy customer. I try to request for feedback by doing follow up calls. Challenging part is always trying to find the root cause of server issues, however with collaboration between team members we strive to always come with a resolution or workaround to fix the problem.

Pros: It was an awesome experience.
Cons: Business process and policies not alligned accordingly.

Great stepping stone into the industry

My typical day at work consist of me commencing for work at 07:45am, I check my daily schedule to confirm which sites I am designated to. I then proceed to sign one of our company vehicles out and then load the equipment that I will need for the day. Once I have ticked off my check list I proceed to the site with my partner, where we perform the following tasks:- Installation and termination of new network cables etc. My relationship with my co-workers is very professional and educational at the same time as we learn from each on a daily. Some of the things I have learned in this company are the different ways of troubleshooting network problems and staging or configuring network switches and Wi-Fi access points. I love driving long distances and being able to resolve different of network issues One of the most challenging aspects of my current job is the communication between our call centre and us when sending through our task completion

Cons: Only hire on contracts, no permanent

It’s a good company to kickstart your career and learn as much as you can at the clients they base you at while also being as productive as possible.

Cons: Contract extensions rather than permanent offer
