My typical day at Bcx FastNet is always memeroable as i look forward to working with my team of 10 helpdesk agents. We have daily catch meetings to discuss the previous week and what we can do different today.I have a well balanced team whom look at me as their mentor, someone they can talk to openly and they know that i look at myself on their level except.Working here gave me the opportunity to understand how the wireless solutions works, how POS (Point of Sales) witeless terminals connects to the bank etc. these are typical day to day transactions.I have a supportive manager whom I can always talk to for advice and highlight new strategies and processes which he acknowledges.Challenge_we manage and support the Wifi hotspot for a third party and our greatest challenge is to retain their customer base which we have identified a strategy to decrease churn.

Excellent Learning Curve

I am based at the client (vwsa) for over five years now. I was retrenched by Dimension Data in June of 2017. I was then recruited by BCX as they got the contract and I prefered to stay with the client as I did not have much of a choice. The work environment is great and I am surrounded by teamplayers. However, I realised that I cannot stay here forever because what would happen to my carreer if BCX loses the contract again to a different IT firm. They a great company to work for, But what I seek now is security.

Minimal growth

I enjoy going the extra mile for my fellow colleagues, as well as the clients. I have a strong and very understanding relationship with my colleagues and superiors. I enjoy training the newcomers to the team, as that keeps me up to date with new changes and keeps my own knowledge fresh.

Good Company to work for, you get an opportunity to learn different client environments, different systems. Great co-workers. Helpdesk Administrator

IT Helpdesk Administrator - Log all calls and emails in the incident handling system - Maintain a high degree of customer service for all queries and adhere to SLA - Escalating more complex incidents calls when needs to be - Follow up on outstanding calls with the resolvers and updating calls accordingly - Taking ownership and responsibility on call logged, ensuring calls are resolved/closed within SLA - 1st line troubleshooting hardware and software - Remote Desktop Support(1st line troubleshooting) - Walk customers through problem solving process - Provide 1st line Support - Basic network problem troubleshooting( using solar winds) - Dealing with password issues - Track, route and redirect incidents to the correct support group - Respond to emails messages for customers seeking assistance - Asking right questions to determine the nature of the problem, analyse and come up with a solutions

Work for Telkom, been transfer to BCX.

In all the year of working in the enviroment building up expererience in all the departments, it can just be use to the advance of BCX and more. It is in a PMO set-up support the PM's on their project. It only focus on work.

Pros: There is veryday new skills to learn.
Cons: The EE police towards our EE

Customer service

I am a well trained and qualified indicate with an advance experience of customer service.I have started working for Telkom accounts en queries in 2006 as a call center agent,i then moved to Telkom quality team to assist with call evaluation and attend to customer complains. I joined joined Neotel customer service desk and then moved to Neotel shop to assist customers face to face.I am currently working for BCX as a quality administrator.

Pros: Growth within the company
Cons: long hours

Excellent learning curve

A day at BCX is professional, fun and a nice place to work for, it's an environment that anyone can love to work at, colleagues are professional, sweet and learning from each other and as well as working as a team at most cases, I have learnt a lot from BCX, I'm now at a certain stage in my career where I'm comfortable because of their resources to make me be at an experienced level, I enjoy working here with my team and the atmosphere of the company is so refreshing, though the most challenging aspect of my role can be time management sometimes because the company is in Centurion and I'm in Johannesburg so it's a 40 minutes gap and an hour depending on traffic.

Pros: Opportunity for doing courses that may enhance one's skills
Cons: Loads of work
