I work in a team of 12 including my team leader, we processes different applications daily, I am a proactive and I have the sense of urgency. in team I am the only member that deals with 5 products namely vehicle and asset finance, home loans, card, bank codes and deceased. over the years within the bank I have worked in 3 departments namely originations, record management and services. I have acquired a number of skills learned many products within different capabilities. we work in the chain value system and we constantly come up with new ways of working in order to improve the systems we use. I enjoy helping our customers, resolving customers queries some how gives me the certain level of joy. the most challenging aspect of job is when the most of my team members are absent where by one have to carry all the load on his/her shoulders because we should not have to inconvenient our customers..

Amazing learning curve

Great for a while

Complex challenges to solve. Challenges to navigate the organization and find someone who knows what the answer is and challenging to get people to take ownership. Lack of accountability. Lots of training opportunities. Each department has a different culture. The leadership are not as strong as I would like. Great salary and perks.

Relationship Banking

It's a great company to work for and has great values for clients. I relate well with my Colleagues and subordinates but I mostly enjoy interacting and solutioning for clients needs. I have learnt that, without our clients and having in-depth knowledge of what's happening in their businesses, my business would not grow. Furthermore, people are a greatest resource which must be nurtured and respected as they are the front line to providing great service, if they are happy, our customers will be happy. I enjoy the fact that my position allows me to make decisions without relying to the Head Office and the most challenging aspect of my job is when you know the clients business so well but some decisions to Grant credit must be reffered to a Credit Manager who has no clue about the business or industry.

Learning Environment

Standard bank is a good place to learn because we have many department here that do different things. I learn alot here and am willing to show or implement what i have learn here to other people. I start work at 7am to 4pm and its a very nice hours to work and relax. My relationship with my co-workers is very good because at our team we like family that care for each other. I have learn that share what you have to others and also respect everyone with judging. I enjoy every moment here stand-ups meeting, sometimes we have coffee time to talk, celebrate every good moment that we have as a team. The challenge aspect i have was at the first of my programme because i didn't know the language but now i am enjoying.

Good service experience

I really enjoy working at standard bank. You meet different people on a daily basis and you get to interact with them and also assist them with their finances as some people need guidance, it's amazing the level of work we have to put out on a daily basis. The environment is great and the people are always looking forward to a great customer experience, and the my fellow employees are very helpful and friendly. Being part of a big company like standard bank is amazing. I have learned to be humble and to appreciate every day of my life.
