Great working environment

I joined Nampak 2017 as an Apprentice,, in the morning I did daily checks around the plant checking oil temperature and oil levels. Do monthly maintenance on injection moulding machines. Attend to breakdowns. The worker's are friendly as I am also a calm friendly person, I have never had any conflicts. I can say maybe minor conflicts since we are all humans. I have learnt a lot over the years, working under pressure being put under pressure, and that safety is is very important in the workplace. What I enjoy and makes me feel good is after a challenging problem on a machine gets sorted or a very difficult fault

Pros: Since I am now working as a machine minder there an opportunity for me to become a setter then become process technician
Cons: The working hours are long 12 hours shift

Programming and Electrical drawing

I do PLC Siemens S7 200 and 300. Also do electrical drawing for 4 different plants in South Africa and out side South Africa. My relationship with co-workers is excellent and we work together most of the time as a team. I learn a lot from my senior Engineers and I enjoy what we do. The most challenging part of my job is when there are new equipment from overseas and have to learn the machine including to redraw the drawing to South African standards and at the same time is very interesting.

Production supervisor

I have every day challenges witch I enjoy handling iit makes me stronger in the work place My relationship with co-workers is like a family relationships because I am at work more then I am.home My past experience in the company has made me reach new levels so did the training programs

Excellent training

I was under good mentorship that moulded my engineering skills to be very sharp. I am a fast leaner, self driven. I was involved in progress improvement, quality improvement, work closely with production personnel to keep the efficiency of the machine above 95%

Pros: Not too much engineering exposure
Cons: No room for growth

Excellent learning curve

WORK WITH OWN PASE AND OWN INITAITIVE. GROWTH IS SLOW. IDEAS BEING TAKEN INTO CONSIDIRATION. ABLILTY TO WORK WITH OWN SUPERVISION. PEOPLE HAVE NO TEAM SPIRIT. MANAGERS TRY TO BOOST STAFF SELF ESTISTEEM. TIME KEEPING CHECK AND LEAVE DAYS .

Learning, experience for future purposes

Working at nampak was a good platform for me as s student , because now I know how the plant operates and the safety hazards to look out for in the similar work invironmen
