Excellent learning platform

I have learnt alot at wesbank .in the 3-4 years that i have been there i have worked on different books in different silos from early stage collections to court orders and also on balloon accounts/refinance (contract has ended).An average day at work is collections all the way assisting customers ,also colleagues when they are not available also helping them to make sure that at the end of the month the team has reached its goals and target:theres alot of team work going around.the best part in my job is interacting with customers and that feeling that comes with it when you were able to go out of your way to help a customer and they are happy with your work or that you helped.The most challenging part of my work is the customer :sometimes we do get some difficult customer that will need you to go that exteme mile in order for them to be satisfied .

Summary review of current role

A typical work day is occupied by running with projects, coordinating testing for new changes, communicating to business regarding new system developments. Providing assistance with system related queries. Running reports. My relationship with my co-workers is really good. I am able to get along with my peers and other staff within the organization and on all levels. I enjoy not having a team that reports to me because that has pushed me to work more independently. I enjoy being in a more specialized role. The most challenging aspects of the role is dealing other parties not meeting their deadlines which affect my deliverables.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion and can work in any sector of industry
Cons: Can be reliant on other parties to meet your own deadline

Excellent working environment

The culture at WesBank is excellent, I get well with all myour colleagues. Very good people to work with. The company encourages excellent customer services. Ourban customer's needs are always considered and we alays try our level best to ensure they are met.

Cons: leave calculated on a six days calender although we don't work Saturdays. when you apply for Friday, Saturday is counted as well

Learned to be a leader

Plan my day ahead and know what to do first as always have to do list for the day Shared our focuses and success each and every monday and learned so much from each other Learned how to handle meeting with the manager and HOD from the business and how to write the monthly report Calibration part most enjoyable as we discuss what to do and what not to do Challenging part it's when the manager and team leaders not agreeing with the escalations that was sent

Pros: Managed to work from different business
Cons: 8 hours but if lot in my plate will work till late to make sure i accomplish my duties on time

What ive learn dont ever underestimate your collegues you may learn a lot

this is the challenging job that am doing current that needs more time , focus , pay attention to details , more stressful but at the end of the day you will enjoy. when it comes to relation =ship with co-workers we jelly easy as we work to succeed , we help each other to archive set goals as they call it team work . the most important that I have learn trust one another the team will succeed what I enjoy most in our department we are diversity , you learn other culture easy and understand their background the most challenging its when you call your client and give you a sad story eg if he or she lost the love one.

Pros: willing to learn new staff , goal driven
Cons: long working hours when we try to archive set target yooo sometimes we start at 8am till 7pm

Working at Wesbank has been exciting, the team's I've worked with are fun however at the same time driven to achieve. Mostly self managed and very disciplined.

Vast opportunities of growth

Working for WesBank is working in a very flexible environment. Every day gives opportunities of growth. My colleagues and staff is like working in my own company. My colleagues are a library to me, I learn daily. My staff have all skills to achieve the Bank objectives. I have learnt to manage, cooperate, finance management, people and performance management, amongst many. My job needs me to move country wide, spend time away and less time home. That could be challenging sometimes when family has homework.

Pros: Many opportunities of growth.
Cons: Working away from home mostly

Never again

WesBank pride themselves on being 1 of the Top Employers in the country but is possibly the worst company I've ever worked for. There is so much favouritism and way too much hierachy and red tape. The current CEO - Chris de Cock is a shining example of what not to be like. I wouldn't go back for anything! There isnt any sort of Team spirit and staff are related badly. Be prepared not to even be greeted by Management who just walk past their suboardinates.

Pros: The salary is good
Cons: Minimum Bonus
