Transnet Freight Rail Reviews

Excellent learning curve

Typical work date is not predictable, yet structured. Co workers are professional, a wealth of knowledge, understands company vision, mandate as well as policies an procedures. Team work is King and brings a sense of family, unity and trust. I've learned the structure of the organization and the role myself and my team plays in the bigger picture. Also how the production line works between the various stakeholders. I enjoy being given a target working towards achieving it with the team and the joy and exciting when we do achieve it in spite of challenges and difficulty. The most challenging aspects of my job is bad weather and acts of God that is beyond human control which effects our targets.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours

Good learning curve

The experience I've had on my current employer is that it is co workers are the people that keep you going, care and willing to share information and teach. On a day to day basis work load is not as I anticipated, but would look for something to keep me busy. work gets challenging sometimes but okay. Working with different people in different areas, working long hours leaving office late to finish targets.

Pros: ability to rotate to different department for knowlegde
Cons: No promotion opportunities

Gained tremendous experience especially in that specific industry

A typical day at work starts off busy and then things slow down towards the end of the day. I had a good relationship with mostly my managers and got along with colleagues. I learned that you need to just concentrate on your work and don't concentrate on what people say. What was hard for me was how slow things moved at my company, to get things moving was a mission.

Pros: Normal working hours
Cons: Getting information takes longer than necessary
