The Benefits of working at a SOE

Work starts at 7:30 with a review of any calls to be attended. If there are any logged, then we would phone the clients to see if they are remoteable calls or whether a call out is required. If remoteable, then we would remote in and resolve. My relationship with colleagues is excellent. we assist each other technically or fill in where necessary. We treated each others as peers and work as a team. I've learned that in an organisation of this size, one meets clients/users of different personalities and demands and one has to be accomodating to all. I enjoy working with my team mates as well as learning new technologies.

Pros: The size of the organisation creates an interesting challenge with the amount of work to be done and also dealing with customers
Cons: Red tape with regards to processes

Allways learn never give up

I had started my carer in the banking environment and progresses to my current job at Telekom Tech support manger where i manage over 13 different personalities doing their jobs which include remote troubleshooting customer care and escalations to me assigning technicians,on my side i deal with the the company reports rectify errors ,do escalations,constant up skilling my staff on systems and new products,reporting to directors and sector operations mangers on progress reports.i do presentations with relevant stats to stakeholders

Opportunity for Growth

At clientele i was nominated as team player and or the year and i have only been working with them for 9 month, i am also thankful of the space i receive to be able to share my knowledge with my team members and being able to them to shaping their testing skills and also in return helped me to shaping my testing skills.

Pros: Opportunity for promotions
Cons: I have been in consulting for sometime and i am used in working long hours and giving my best to ensure quality

Excellent

Learnt so much and team working brought out the best in me. Learn about new technology and new challenges we are facing generally. We are improving our services on a daily basis so we can met the standard. To work in such a company is a privilege as it makes sure we are develop and deliver a good quality service without compromising our customers. I am looking forward of going to work as I always learn something new about myself and Ur company.

I've learnt a lot from my previous experiences.

I have customer service experience. Did sales for jewellery shops , did promos work and previously worked at Telkom store . I volunteerialy worked as an awareness coach , drug and alcohol awareness. I'm an currently looking for a new venture to grow as an individual and learn more things.

Pros: Great customer service, learn to adapt to helping people and putting customers first
Cons: Worked retail hours

Enjoyed working at Telkom,i like people,so i really enjoyed working with our clients.

Being a technical officer,we worked mostly outside,installing and repairing Telkom infrastructure.Was hard work but enjoyed it as i love working with people.We worked close together and assisted each other were needed. Telkom send me on endless courses and i really learned allot,technical,people relations,ext My challenges were mostly getting access at clients and Telkom is very strict on targets,which was sometimes difficult to obtain,but mostly did! Telkom gives excellent medical aid and if targets are reached,youre well rewarded.

Pros: Large company,great medical aid.
Cons: Very target driven,in my personel opinioun looses clients with bad service,because of blindly chasing targets and not focusing on quality.

I am a driven individual .

I enjoy getting challenges at work and mostly dealing with the change with my team so we can point the different ideas. My work day start at 8am to 5pm i work as and Admin consultant I was promoted due to my hard work and determination. I started as a call centre agent assisting customers with best customer service and within 6 months was promoted. I log fault via emails and technical support via emails and admin duties. My relationship with my co-worker is good because i go to them for advise and they come to me you can say i am a bubbly person. I have learned that if you love something you must do your level best to prove that particular thing is best for you. I enjoy reading and love being around people who have fun and also brains. The most challenge of my job is when the customer does not understand what you have emailed and you have to phone them in order to understand.

Pros: Enjoy communication with people and getting the best result with my assistant.
Cons: Need better income and gain more experience.

Team Management and people development to perform

Activities are more on providing reports and presentations to EXCO on progress on performance against targets - Liaising with business units on mitigation factors on how to achieve targets. The environment is fast paced and dynamic and is relationships are meaningful and full of support as we are working towards a common goal to reach targets for all to be rewarded. What I have learned is mindfulness towards team members and develop an support so that the environment is conducive to deliver business results. I enjoy Fridays as it is more relaxed by entertaining customers
