A learning experience

I am a team player, i enjoy working with different people and in my years at the ethekwini municipality there were no conflict between other employees and myself. Everyday i would come into the work place on time start my work without being told, i woukd see to customers inquiries and resolve them as best as i could. What it has taught me is how deal with people from different backrounds and to listen others peoples problem and empanthise with them.

Pros: a great leaning oppotunity
Cons: not being able to assist restricted by municipal bylaws

Expanded career knowledge

Is the great place or organization to work in. They give the relavent experience and help you grow career wise. The Municipality is helped me grow and expanded my knowledge and experience.

Pros: Exellent training skills, and good experience to help you grow in the municipal industry

We have one culture, which is to serve the council

The working environment is amazing. everyone is seeking to achieve a common goal which is to achieve the council Integrated Development Plan vision of making the city being one of the most caring livable city by 2030.

New age work force

As one ages you have to work harder and not smarter, workdays are stressful, machinery shortages, work environment not safe, staff are in constant battle to challenge you out of entitlement. My workers great in spite of our difficult times, I am only as good as my leading and getting the best out of them. I have learnt not to be judgemental, I am not better than anyone else we are different that makes us equal, to express our cultures, working together. I enjoy people from all walks of life, I'm humbled by what they share, reminding me that everyone has a role in life. We have choices that we live to fight another day. The promotion is by BEE Females replace males, they can work efficiently and competently., work always there and if I don't do it it won't be done. Get it done is my motto, not waiting on others. staff leave the work gets shared, no replacing of skilled staff. the good workers extra but no renumeration coz seniors get a performance incentive, enough said....

Very good brnefits, stability

Very challenging environment. Risky and dangerous - safety is no. One. New things everyday. Exciting and results driven. Stats is very important. Performance appraisal based on performance management.

Pros: because its stagnant. not much room for upgrading.
Cons: shift works and long hours.

Copitent nurse

I'm Gladness working as phc nurse where I work it very hectic due catch ment area it have over population it too over crowded Which end up us working alot seeing emergency now and again and high number of statistic of TB and Job Pt as well as teenage pregnant we also run AYFS program which so helpfull to adolescents or youth it a busy CHC

Pros: it is Great opp for alot has happend special upgrading myself with alot of shortcourses e.g. computer Doing BLs management and dispensing licence Pc 101

Great opportunity

working with eThekwini Municipality as an IT support assistant gave me so much experience and exposed me to many IT related things. I have gained so much knowledge. As a volunteer I dedicated myself to gain as much knowledge as I can with that given opportunity. I've leaned not to give up even if I don't have an immediate solution I try by all means to get one and leave the customer happy.

Supervisory skills, health and safety skills, understanding local government

I gain lot of experience, got to be exposed to to different cultures working for one goal, I met different customers with different mind set but be able to execute their needs in a professional manor.

Pros: Great learning skills program always provided
Cons: Not given enough chances to prove your self with other experience you are bringing
