Major stepping stone

Working for eThekwini Municipality has been a major stepping stone in terms of overall work experience. I worked as a field worker but more often than not you find yourself doing your own admin work meaning I had to learn how to have my own filing system for example. Challenges came in terms of time management, deciding when to be in the office and when to go into field, but it is an enjoyable experience.

Pros: Job security
Cons: Less opportunities for promotion

Leaning curve

Working for Thekwini Municipality and other organisations I have been exposed to the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality procedures followed. My exposure to the corporate world has taught me to work under pressure, to interact effectively with others on different levels in civil engineering.

Excellent

Hallo I have BSc Agricultural Science at University of South Africa, drivers licence and Experience . I am Applying for Horticulturist I am a dynamic, dedicated and hard working individual who will do whatever it takes to get the task done properly. I am driven and self motivated. I work well on my own as well as in a team and am not afraid to ask questions. This lessens “fixing” time. I am interested in this position because It have something great to offer in the farm my work ethic, my ability to “make it according to plan and my willingness Past references will reflect that I'm reliable.

Excellent learning curve

I would like to work for a company that is dynamic and values innovation and idea creativity in their employees. I enjoy a wok day that allows me to have a combination of practical work and theoretical application. I like an environment that is not strained and tense but rather welcoming and accepting and tolerant where co-workers hep each other.

Pros: experience for my career
Cons: many deadlines at times

Excellent working equipment

My type of job trainee artisan I'm interested to apply this position of driver I have code 14/Ec drivers licence with PDP I was working at municipality as trainee artisan I was fix vehicle and doing brake down. My experience I was driving from 2015 to 2017 when doing breakdown and driving to c.o.f Also testing vehicle before repair it Relationship with coworkers The relation ship was good because were respect each other Relation was good because cooperate with management No conflict with coworkers. The things I have learn't I gained the experience of fix vehicle I got the trade diesel machenic I also got the experience of driving different vehicle and truck.

My previous employment at EThekwini Municipality was fantastic

On my previous employment I enjoyed working with the company I experienced lot of challenges because I was working different people with different cultures and values but I was able to cope, I worked for 2 years at EThekwini Municipality, now I am not employed, I have learnt that you must not argue with suppliers or customers but you must find the way to solve a particular problem, I was really enjoying my administrative work that I was doing daily , the most challenging aspects of my previous job was taking breakdowns and we didn't have enough Artisans who will attend those breakdowns and customers will have to wait for help for long hour's and I will have to phone them and explain what is happening daily, sometimes customers will get angry and shout at me. In the workplace I was working very well with the staff I am sure they were wishing I should be employed permanent but than it didn't happen my contract for internship expired this year January 2018

A learning experience

I am a team player, i enjoy working with different people and in my years at the ethekwini municipality there were no conflict between other employees and myself. Everyday i would come into the work place on time start my work without being told, i woukd see to customers inquiries and resolve them as best as i could. What it has taught me is how deal with people from different backrounds and to listen others peoples problem and empanthise with them.

Pros: a great leaning oppotunity
Cons: not being able to assist restricted by municipal bylaws

Expanded career knowledge

Is the great place or organization to work in. They give the relavent experience and help you grow career wise. The Municipality is helped me grow and expanded my knowledge and experience.

Pros: Exellent training skills, and good experience to help you grow in the municipal industry

We have one culture, which is to serve the council

The working environment is amazing. everyone is seeking to achieve a common goal which is to achieve the council Integrated Development Plan vision of making the city being one of the most caring livable city by 2030.

Pros: Good working environment
Cons: Limited Career Growing opportunities
