Be proffessional and punctual
i am working at Eskom holding a big company that generate and distributes electricity across South Africa ,it a great company to work for ,their values put the community first their goals to have zero harm no injuries for the employees,environment and public. everyday is a new day at Eskom my work i meet new people everyday and i enjoy that interacting with different cultures and religion i wok well with my co workers we are a great team the support i get from them it beyond what i expect ,what make us a great team good communication ,honesty ,trust among us ,i really enjoy what i am doing meeting new people,most challenging aspects of this job is to deal with angry customers and they came with their problem to you and you have to help them with a s mile because you there to serve a customer and satisfy him.
Pros: yes i dont want to stay in one position for more than five yaers max

A good and fair learning curve
A typical work day would be to fix and maintain the network, to fix employee laptops and computers, to upgrade software, to activate 3G cards for new laptop users and to connect employee telephones to the network. My co-workers are great people to work with as they are professional, hard-working and are great mentors and supervisors. I have learnt about the importance of good customer service, the importance of making sure that all employees are connected to the internet and how to fix and work with computer hardware and software. I enjoy creating applications that will make it easy for employees to do their work. The most challenging aspects of the job are to get used to structured and non-flexible hours.
Pros: Great opportunity for Electrical Engineering Heavy Current students.
Cons: Not much exposure to Information Technology and Software Engineering.

Tshinanne's Work Review
My current job involves offering an advice on environmental management requirements (compliance obligations) as well as management systems as per ISO Standards. I am currently working with a vibrant team that most colleagues envy the working relationship we have, and this has made our work much easier with great SHEQ Performance for construction in the business. I have learnt to respect people all the time, due to the fact that our job involves lots of engagement with stakeholders (internal and external) as well as authorities. What I enjoy mostly with the work is interaction with lots of different people from different backgrounds and working with a number experts (engineers, quantity surveyors, cost engineers, contracts managers and many more.
Pros: Great exposure to lots of operations in the business
Cons: No much opportunities for growth

Excellent Learning Curve
I work for Eskom in the Physical Metallurgy section. The department comprises of several engineers who are friendly and work orientated. A typical workday in the office includes receiving samples from the power-station for failure analysis, as well as going to the power-station to conduct life assessment tests to the equipment, and giving recommendations on how to make sure the power station runs with outages. The power-station on its own offers a life time work experience.
Pros: There is a lot that can be learned from the company
Cons: They are not hiring permanent

Learning path
I do statistical analysis using R, excel and sometimes python and create intrrpretable charts, tables and graphs. We have a healthy working relationship with my co-workers, as a learner I always find them as greate help and where I can I also assist them with what I know regarding statistical packages that I know. So far I have learnt using ANOVA, regression and correlation analysis, time series analysis, interpreting descriptive statistics, sampling and sampling techniques, Cleaning data, Exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing and using data analytical tools. I enjoy using R a lot, I always find it interesting to develop a code for certain graphs and charts. The most challenging aspect in this job is to find data to start with as some data you may find them containing errors.
Pros: Great opportunity for learning new things and getting the insight knowledge of aspects
Cons: Safety issues as there are limited transport to and from workplace

Excellent learning curve
It has been a great experience for me since I join Eskom Group Capital (Power Delivery Projects) from one its biggest service providers High Voltage Technology SA, I'm currently one of the project team building a 1.6 billion 400/132kV substation for Sasol Synfuels. what I enjoy most on this project is that my manager (Project manager) has given me a huge responsibility of managing and reporting on progress from the different departments,The challenges that i face on my current position is that i'm not a permanent Eskom worker, i'm third party contracted to Eskom.

Doing low and Medium voltage and line ibsp
Low and medium voltage line inspection.Low voltage line mantenance and repairs ,working live in low voltage network, medium voktage line maintenance and repairs. Fault finding on line and apparatus. Reading,understanding abd interpretation of single line diagrams and power circuits, Ensuring that safety procedures and rules are exercised. Substation maintenance. Attending to emergencies
Pros: working hard
