Can more experience with the Department

I provide support in the procurement processes and assets control within the Directorate. Also provide HR Administration services support i the Directorate. Manage the budget within the Directorate and management of human resources as well as information resources, conducting investigation and represent the department in times of needs

Pros: Less opportunity for promotion
Cons: Working long hours without remuneration

Best place to learn

It was amazing working in this department because I got to learn a lot and also adjusting myself to a new environment and learning new languages was a great experience for me. Arriving at a correctional centre for the first time I felt very unease but within a short period of time the centre became a second home for and a good a strong relationship with my supervisors and colleagues made the journey of learning easy and wonderful

GREENER PASTURES

The current working environment or Component doesn't have any senior position . I have reached the exit and I am still very young and innovative ,I still need to grow in my career path . I need to explore new adventures.

Excellent learning experience

I have National Diploma and Btech in Human Resource Management from the Central university of technology and N.Dip Safety Management from Unisa and I'm currently doing Btech Project management from Central University of technology. I have experience in records office which filling and saving keeping of documents. Recruitment officer which includes recruitment of new employees and training staff. Pmds officer which includes assessing performance of employees and Moderation. Safety Representatives includes safe keeping of employees and community. I enjoy to work fellow employees. I have learned a lot and gained experience in the Department. I really enjoy doing Safety inspections

Change in work environment

Assessing offenders and placing them on parole,arranging victim offender dialogue to ensure restorative justice and reconciliation. Greater opportunity to change the lives of those who chose crime as a way of living.

Self motivated

Am self motivated and I am willing to learn more about logistics. Am a hard worker I can work under pressure. I have knowledge in public sector procurement policy as well as asset management. I am known for my strong ethic, good communication skills, energy and organising skills.

Pros: I have experience in the field of Supply Chain Management specially asset management and more recent Procurement. I have knowledge in public sector procurement policy as well as asset management (PFMA,MFMA, LAMPF, BBBEE and assets management guidelines)

Good Learning curve

I started working for the Department 11 years ago.I have learnt many things about life and things that can lead you to go to jail.I learnt more about people and how to interact with them in a productive way.The most thing i enjoy is to change the unbecoming behavior of the offender.The most challenging aspect of the job is gangsterism and corruption amongst my fellow colleagues and it makes our objective to be difficulty to reach.

Pros: There are oppotunities but i need to grow and move to other industries.
Cons: We are working from 06:00 to 18:00 a week
