Exposure to different aspects related to security

I'm currently doing Advance Diploma in security management and currently works in security industry since 2005 till to date at varying positions which also broadens my horizons and be a team player when I also leade fellow employees

The environment if not conducive

- Capturing and verifying item requisitions using LOGIS; - Bids/Price quotation evaluation; - Supplier selection (Data base Management); - Sale and Disposal of goods; - Linking suppliers to requisitions, Quotations and Orders; - Capturing of Procurement Advise (PAs) and Orders, - Administration of quotations, purchase orders and tenders; - Price Quotation (Process for purchases less and more than R30 000 items); - Compilation of Tender documents; - Coordination of activities of procurement of stock and the control over the existing stock(Store Management); - Invitation of suppliers; - Contract Management; - Budget Management; - Cancellation of unauthorized Tenders; - Splitting of documents in preparations for stores and filling, - Compile Procurement and Supply Chain Reports (Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly; and - Assist the Bid Adjudication Committee in evaluation of Bid documents

I learned alot about working with people and able to develop skills of leadership.

I worked at the Correctional services for a period of one year and it taught me alot about law and being able to work wit many people as possible. I developed skills such as leadership skills, research skills.

Can more experience with the Department

I provide support in the procurement processes and assets control within the Directorate. Also provide HR Administration services support i the Directorate. Manage the budget within the Directorate and management of human resources as well as information resources, conducting investigation and represent the department in times of needs

Best place to learn

It was amazing working in this department because I got to learn a lot and also adjusting myself to a new environment and learning new languages was a great experience for me. Arriving at a correctional centre for the first time I felt very unease but within a short period of time the centre became a second home for and a good a strong relationship with my supervisors and colleagues made the journey of learning easy and wonderful

Interesting and great learning opportunity

Its interesting as the department of correctional services is made out of a whole lot, of things, there is education, health, transport all in one department.

No future advancements

I have obtained qualifications to develop my skills and up until to date I am still utilised at Human Resource when my field of study is accounting, costing or even auditing. So here is no future prospects for me

Excellent learning experience

I have National Diploma and Btech in Human Resource Management from the Central university of technology and N.Dip Safety Management from Unisa and I'm currently doing Btech Project management from Central University of technology. I have experience in records office which filling and saving keeping of documents. Recruitment officer which includes recruitment of new employees and training staff. Pmds officer which includes assessing performance of employees and Moderation. Safety Representatives includes safe keeping of employees and community. I enjoy to work fellow employees. I have learned a lot and gained experience in the Department. I really enjoy doing Safety inspections

GREENER PASTURES

The current working environment or Component doesn't have any senior position . I have reached the exit and I am still very young and innovative ,I still need to grow in my career path . I need to explore new adventures.
