I work at HR department managing the duty register, compiling G224's, compiling month stats and do certifications, payroll certification for every monthly, filling employees documents, plan leave of the personnel. I work hand in hand with my colleagues having an understanding in everything that we do. I consult when I am not clear and I prioritize my work and I really enjoy working with people that is why I completed an HR qualification.

Asset balancing and reconciliation
Correctional services is a very big organisation with different fields of work and my own field was Supply chain where I have learnt working under pressure at all times,I had times where I worked as an independent but most of the time I enjoyed team work.I have learnt how to deal with different behaviours and different characters in the work place, dealing with the suppliers from the outside, inmates and correctional official official and I had to be alert at all times. my job as an asset clerk was to ensure the safeguarding of assets of the department from and the most challenging part about my Job was that everyone seemed not to understand the role that she/ he had to play when it comes to assets allocated in his/her offices, so when I'm doing verification of assets I will find many losses, shortages and surpluses which I had to reconcile everymonth because assets had to balance and I had to sensitize to the responsible officials about accountability of government funds should any permanent loss take place

Cons: I had to go extra mile at times due to audit queries and annual asset verification from 07h15 to 18h00

In 2012 I worked as Pax Agent at Menzies Aviation, it was temporary position.
At the moment I'm unemployed,and I'm willing to work. In 2014 Octotober I was working at Department of Correctional Services as Internal Auditor (intern). It was a one year contract.I'm ambitious, hardworking, motivated and focused person. I can handle pressure and I always make sure that I complete every task given to me with perfection and satisfaction. I'm a team player and I'm willing to learn new things.
Pros: Great opportunity, I learned a lot.

Good working environment
Every day has its own challenges as im working with offenders. As i strongly believe in team work, this makes my job easy due to the working relationship,good communication skills and this made me a good problem solver. I have learned the following, security/situation analysis, mantaining high security standard, Gang management, investigation and supervision. I mostly enjoyed rehabilitation and it kept me joyfully especially when i see the change in the life of the offenders. The most challenging aspects of my job is escorting offenders from the prison to either courts, external public hospitals, and when they are temporarily released to attend funerals for their immidiate familied, in this cases i need to be extra vigilent because i need to ensure that the offender doesnt escape, the offender is also safe from his enemies that i dont know them, the offender is not receiving any parcel from anyone. in short i dont need to loose sight of the escorted individual. thanks.

There are no opportuniteis to grow since all the promotional posts are occupied
I have gained lot of experience as an Educationist whereby I facilitate many programmes like AET, N Courses(Engineering and Business Studies). I have learned to plan and draw budget and I enjoy training offenders on AET.
Pros: There are no opportunities for growth since all the rpomotional post are filled

Learning curve
Government does not grow you per ser because it is service delivery and I do not have any challenges within my current job. I desire work that will challenge me to come up with new strategies to strategize the company.

Change in work environment
Assessing offenders and placing them on parole,arranging victim offender dialogue to ensure restorative justice and reconciliation. Greater opportunity to change the lives of those who chose crime as a way of living.

I honestly enjoy working for the department and have a good working experience on a day to day basis. I have a very good working relationship with everyone at the work place.I appreciate new challenges and passionate about self development and the development of others.I learnt a lot from working for the department ranging from management of stores and warehouses, procurement office dealing with purchasing and liaising with external stake holders updating supplier database.Transit duties receiving and checking quality and quantity. Management of movable assets, checking inventory. Familiar with Logis functions and selections logis PI, LSLR,etc. I enjoy people management/supervision and development.As we are a public entity AGSA usually visit us to conduct auditing i then have to do a lot of checking and controlling to achieve zero discrepancies.
Pros: Yes, there good chances for promotion
Cons: There's only one challenge for me not to complete my job because i have to wait for other people to do their part first.

I leaned all public relations pros and cons
On daily basis i have to do media analysis on national and local newspaper,and send it the head of prison.If there is an event i have to liaise with the relevant department.I will not be easy to organise an event alone ,therefore some members of the department which host the event will assist with their input. Before an event i have to do media invitation to broadcast and print media. The inspection of the venue have to be done in advance as well as a day before the event.During event i have to take notes as well as pictures. I have learned how to handle media during a crisis The most challenging aspect is when the date for an event is set and people invited as well as media and management decide postpone the date
Pros: only a learning is what i achieved
Cons: i worked many hours,and slept away
