My current work life

My qualification includes a Diploma in Hospitality Management and B Tech in Food and Beverage Management. I also have vast years of practical experience as a Caterer, Facilitator, Supervisor, Manager and a Leader within the Correctional Service environment. I do believe that I am fully ready to accept more responsibility. I am a diligent and passionate worker and take pride in my work and I am certainly sure that I can make a positive contribution into your establishment/institution.

Admission supervisor

I'm currently stationed at Durban medium B at admission units, my duties are as follows; thum print of offenders, calculating offenders sentence, registration of offenders. I have developed several skills, abilities Every day I have to be alert for security reasons, Cooperative with team Organizing and planning for work Communication well with peers and senior people

I learned alot about working with people and able to develop skills of leadership.

I worked at the Correctional services for a period of one year and it taught me alot about law and being able to work wit many people as possible. I developed skills such as leadership skills, research skills.

GROWTH OPPORTUNITY

I HAVE GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH MY COLLEGUES AND MANAGERS, I WORK LONG HOURS IF NEEDS BE, WORKING WITH DIFFERENT SUPPLIERS FROM DIFFERENT BACKROUNDS AND LEVELS IT IS SO CHALLENGING AND I HAVE LEARN HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER.

Excellent promotion opportunities

I enjoy liasing with officals from different business units who supplies me with information to write articles for our external newsletter. I adjusted very quicly from the tourism to the justice environment. i guess its becase communication is the same, the only difference is the service/product we have to sell. I also enjoy profiling the work done by our offender (prisoners) who have been rehabilitated by the management areas (prisons) in preparing them for the outside world. The only challenge is that we cannot have pictures of the prisoners who does the good work for security reasons.

Cons: The are no flexi time, we all start at 07:15 and knock off at 15h45

Learning curve

Great opportunity to grow all aspects of South Africa policies and service delivery including but not limited to skills development, education, health and agriculture.

Service delivery

I work at HR department managing the duty register, compiling G224's, compiling month stats and do certifications, payroll certification for every monthly, filling employees documents, plan leave of the personnel. I work hand in hand with my colleagues having an understanding in everything that we do. I consult when I am not clear and I prioritize my work and I really enjoy working with people that is why I completed an HR qualification.

Cons: Growth in government takes longer

Project management exposure

I have learned to work with different agricultural projects, from planning, implementation, financial expenditure, deliverables, time management and management. I also learned on project planning and quality job performance

I get on well with people and i can work with people.

I am a hard worker and am trust worthy. I enjoy working with people. I am a fast learner and have room to still learn. I have good interpersonal skills, am friendly and honest. I enjoy reading news papers and books.
