Typical day at work and Pros and Cons
- A typical work day - Have a meeting with product developers to understand their requirements - Formulate a design solution with specialist designers - Meetings with contracted suppliers on outsourced design & development work to discuss and clarify the our requirements of the external supplier - Attend tender adjudication meetings - Attend project progress meetings and technical meetings - Visit workshop for addressing any workshop challenges experienced on the design in manufacturing - Relationship with co-workers - Very good relationship with co-workers, - What I have learnt - Team work - Effective reporting - Work planning - What you enjoy most - Interacting with different units of the company (Logistics, Procurement, Operations etc.) - The most challenging aspects of the job - Multitasking and the involvement in different units tasks

An outstanding learning curve
My day starts with me attending a daily production meeting to get the progress of the work that has been done as there is two shifts in order plan for the day and attend to any production related

Enjoyed working in the field more than the boardroom
Mornings is always inductions for new or construction workers and then planning or follow up meetings for the week.I worked in a male dominated industry but my colleagues were very supportive to my department.We all worked together to avoid and reduce any incidents that might occur.I enjoyed working with different people from different cultures with different perspective in life and works learnt a lot from everyone. Most challenging factor would be seeing fatality which would be once in a few years but still it was most disturbing to the family and employees

Great Learning Experience
As a product of the business faculty at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, I have been exposed and trained not only in the finance field but in administration, communications, business administration, computer literacy and many other skills. Over the years I have acquired knowledge and skills in, but not limited to, analytical skills, financial management skills presentation skills, facilitation skills, coordinating and managing minor projects, contract management, office administration, customer service, understanding of the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, payment and invoicing or billing management. Amongst other things, I do a lot of research, have learned to pay attention to detail, exercise confidentiality, negotiate and have problem solving skills. I am very open- minded and flexible and have room to learn much more. Because of the deadline governed environment, I work well under pressure, work without supervision and am able to produce reports in the required formats.

Working at heights
With the previous job , I've learned a lot working in the Mechanical emviroment as an electrician. Refurbishment of Kalmar Machines : Wheel Alignment and Bearings Suspension post Tie rods Greasing systems and installing new filter housing Spreader stripping , assembling and installing

Excellent learning curve
Im a hard working individual. Egared to learn and improve my knowledge and experience skills and technical ability to master any work that would come my way. I have gained experience in mechanical and electrical during my apprenticeship programs at TRANSNET ENGINEERING. Im willing to relocate any where in South Africa and beyond. Welder
I qualified wider with three years of experience as an Artisan from a big manufacturing business call Transnet Engineering in coaches business. I have worked as an Artisan doing all welding process required for a certain job. Building coaches and maintaining trains from around the world.

Excellent learing curve and getting good experience in different welding processes
I was trained for 3 years as apprentice and i qualified as Artisan Welder . During my working experience i have learned more welding techiniques from my exprienced collegue.they were supportive to me and they guide to what to do as welder and assist where need help .
Pros: I have got a great opportunity to get certification for mig welding and fluxcore welding
Cons: I was working long hours even in weekend when its necessary
