Great learning experience but growth limitations

Job is challenging and always changing. I interact with all departments as a senior level personal assistanto to both the business manager and the financial planning specia list. I get along well with my colleagues and enjoy the different aspects my job entails but looking for growth.

Exellent learning curve

generating my own leads it was so difficult even finding sources,but coming to commission it was so fantastic even going out on the team buildings it was so motivating,working environment was so friendly and,i have learned how to get my own sources.

Pros: there was great opportunities for growth
Cons: working hours was normal

IT IS GOOD TO WORK IN SANLAM

I HAVE LEARNT TO WORK AS A FINANCIAL ADVISOR AND SALES SKILLS I DO HAVE A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH MY CO-WORKERS I ENJOY GOING OUT TO THE FIELD AND DO PRESENTATION THE MOST CHALLENGING IS LAPSES AND AS AN EMLPLOYEE THE COMPANY EXPECT YOU TO PAY EACH AND EVERY EXPENSES THAT YOU USE IN THE COMPANY

Pros: I HAVE BEEN PROMOTED AS A SALES MANAGER IN SANLAM SKY

Brilliant at operation and administration

Administration, making appointments, follow up on outstanding requirements. Do cold calling to set appointments. Meet with clients. Excellent relationship with colleagues, very supportive. I have completed my financial planning 1 as well as completing my Regulatory exams 5. Gained a lot of knowledge in respect of financial planning, working with clients. I enjoyed meeting new clients and new working environment. The most challenging is working for commission and the claw back policy.

A day in my life

I work as self employed. I train at Companies like Sanlam and found it great as i get ti know new people every day. I have to be acredited by Service andcMict Seta . i train computers at Creative Minds and i love it becausec i have to keep my Microsoft skills up to date. I compile training manuals and use the unit standards to guide me. I work great with the CEO's and managers and they know that im always just a phone call away for guidance. The best if my work is when i do coaching and i can see and feel that i have made a difference.

Pros: I work self employed. This gives me the opportunity to present training at different companies. This has given me the opportunity to learn from different organizations and to have accreditation at more than one SETA.
Cons: I work quite long hours and have to promote myself everytime from the start at each company

I love my job

I love my job. I love numbers. I love working in an environment where there is always new things to learn. I love helping others and my job as an advisor is to make people’s lives better Aswell as their families

Exellent

Meeting clients face to face selling sanlam products or making calls setting up a appointment and do presantation , signing up clients collecting there personal information, working with a target sometimes under pressure. making follow up with clients and sorting out lapes also capturing the business

Brilliant exposure to financial environment and markets wiht investment and financial planning.

A typical day in the office will require to finalise any administration ,documentation pertaining to new plans, follow up on outstanding requirements. Do cold calling and canvassing for new prospects. Meet with clients and doe presentation on the needs identified. I have a superb relationship with my colleagues, being in a financial advisory environment my colleagues are majority of the time in high spirit and driven. I have completed my financial planning 1, as well as my regulatory exam RE5. Learned significantly about investment options, different plans and tools, different markets and the impact of the economy on funds and fund growth. to make a sound financial decision that will be to the best interest of your client in the years to come. I enjoy meeting new people and to learn what they are all about and what drives and motivates them. Most challenging for me is listening to people and their situations in the current economical climate, this can be disheartening.

Wonderful family company

It is a challenging position that I have taken head on. I have a wonderful relationship with the director however I would like to grow further in my position.
