The most enjoyable and challenging site i ever worked
My reporting structure is my Senior HSE practitioner. In the morning from 7:00 i attend a toolbox talk with employees. After the toolbox talk i check and sign the DSTI (Daily Safety Task Instructions). From 8:00 am i check and monitor the HSE of the people in the workplace. After lunch i do my inspections. I got a good relationship with the employees as i am always willing to assist. I make the feel at ease especially when asking something related to safety issues. I listen and give them a chance to express themselves. If a question was asked and they need a feed back, i make sure i bring the feed back. In the Medupi Project, i have learnt so many things including working under pressure and other companies different activities. I enjoy to work as a team and be able to achieve the planned targets. The most challenging aspects of the job is when people are getting injured. In these situation is where you need to bring strong changes and strong ideas in the workplace.
Pros: As a hard working individual, i cannot lie, i never been promoted since i started with my company. Some were promoted but me not.
Cons: There was no long working hours i experienced in Medupi.The only stressing time was when i was scheduled to work for 7 days a week. 5-7 from monday to Friday and 5-5 from saturday to sunday. During that week there was no rest.

Company restructuring due to major project closure
The Company is in constant restructuring due to the current economic infrastructure spend available. Business strategy is good however the available infrastructure projects is not filling the gap of the current demobilizing of projects and resources will be leaving cause a discontinue and loss off organised teams.
Pros: The Business strategy looks good

Excellent
Use my expertise to guide young learners and artisans with their daily tasks, installing pipes, plates, stairs, building 4 coal conveyors, ensure that their hours is correct, daily allocation of sub-ordinates. I had a good working relationship with the Managers, Supervisors, Foreman and other workers, mutual respect and understanding. We never had issued that lead to disciplinary hearings. It has been an absolute pleasure to go to work every day and I am thankful that I were given the opportunity to be part of history in building the 4th largest power station in the world that would benefit all South Africans

Great company to work with
A typical day would include orders, stock control receiving dispatching, reporting, managment. Interacting with clients and staff. Leaning project in place... management are helpful and assisting where needed...

Exelent learning curve at M&R lots going on at one time
a tipical day start by atending a morning planning meeting with manegment at 6H00 after that suppervisors and foremans go to there teams and have a safety meeting following by planning for the day durring the shift my responisbilitys are to make sure all employees in my diferent teams are working safe so i talk to the employees finding out what is there concerns and couch them, 15H00 we do a progress meeting and do problem solving(brain storming)

Very understanding
Pumps, Valves, Gearboxes, Conveyors Heat exchangers, oil purifiers , Electrical driven Compressors, Overhauling of Steam drivenTurbine machines,Assembling of Coal milling plant.

I was coordinating night shift
Im a very hard worker with over 8 years construction experience and im currently busy doing my nebosh. I have been working for murray and roberts on several projects including kusile power station eskom etc...
