I started working at Absa in 2012 as an ATM Claims Agent. Shortly afterwards, I started working as Fraud Analyst in Internet Banking Fraud and have been in the department to do. As part of my role, I engage with management, team members where we share best practise ideas, and with customers giving feedback on cases of fraud and explaining the process in detail, as I believe that customer relations form the basis of any business. In my line of work, professionalism is key and I display a high level of integrity in everything I do. My role has exposed me to different facets of the business and I have gained emotional maturity that is required to empathise with clients without compromising on professionalism. I enjoy engaging with customers and providing them with the best service at all times.
Pros: I guess we all want growth but for me its more of perfecting my current role then move within so i will know and perfect when and if the importunity what i will be doing.
Cons: when you love what you doing and want to give the best service extra hours will never be a problem.
Learning, development and challenging
Managing a team of 6 and delivering a stringent assurance plan alongside adhoc requests from seniors keeps me on my toes. Constantly solving problems, putting out fires and being pulled into high-level discussions around finding lasting solutions to critical business gaps. Having direct access to senior stakeholders helps with the understanding strategic goals and the direction the business is heading. Working with people is a critical component, which I enjoy a lot, as it allows to me to piggy-back off colleagues, share ideas and reach a somewhat common ground. Constantly changing environment keeps me challenged to be a ahead of the game. Understanding and knowing our customers is a critical aspect of my work and helping business to be effective at it and to put controls that enable it is rewarding. I thrive on feedback, on being involved and finding lasting solutions to most pressings issues. Empowering teams to make decisions, and take confidence in their abilities to do so is key.
Pros: Growing to become a SME
Excellent learning curve
I have built and managed good relations with my co-workers. When I am not there my portfolio of clients is well taken care of. Transferring skills to new staff members. The past year has taught me patience, building relationships with external and internal clients. Maintain good relations and mostly treat clients with respect, integrity and honesty. I enjoy running with CSI projects as this is part of giving back to the community, helping the needy and also showing empathy. The most challenging aspects of my job is that not everyone understands the rules of the bank and why they are in place. You will find that at times clients expect to receive over and above what the bank is contracted to do and within the borders of all relevant laws and regulations.
Pros: lots of knowledge
Cons: limited growth
I hope this information will be of much appreciation. As told I have 5-6 years experience in this field and just know I'm the right candidate for this job opportunity since I'm very familiar with the line of work I really do hope I'm considered for the opportunity. Most challenging for me would be a customer that's been sent from post to post. I believe I have a great relationship with my co-workers to

My work is normal creditors function , the relationship with co-workers is superb. My supervisor he lacks all aspect of how to manage business and well as human capital
Pros: The whole company is a great place to work for but?????
Cons: Promotion opportunities given to the chosen few within the business units

Absa spends thousand on educating and training staff, i have gained alot of knowledge through this initiative. Management is approachable and open to new ideas and ventures Co- workers are a support structure and we worked well together The most enjoyable was coming together as a team and reaching our targets. Building relationships with stakeholders
