The BPO industry is never dull , as everyday comes with a challenge or learning. You have to balance the needs of a client on a daily basis while maintaining your own company needs. This can be a big challenge.

Excellent learning curve

Working at Telkom for 6 years in the call centre has thought me a lot, working with people who have so much information to share not only about work but about life itself. Telkom was a home away from home with bothers and sisters who are always there to give a helping hand whenever any of us is down and thought me to love and respect the person next to me and open up to ask and give help when required. The call centre is a challenging job with a lot of pressure but being in the Technical support for many years has thought me to be able to work with all kinds of people in terms of customer and to handle all kinder of pressure as you required to assist the customer telephonecally and maintain good stets. Now being at WNS for a year in the very same environment has thought me to lead by an example to the new people and share the very same information i got during my Telkom days

My Call Centre Job

I am a 29 year old woman with kids, I enjoy being around and working with people. At the call centre i speak with different people every day and and get to know different kind of people and the way they act, i have now learn to mange and calm down a angry person. In this job we work in teams that are mananged by a team leader, this is the person who looks after a team and make sure that we do our job and we work as the family. I enjoy working with them we are like a family that is forever laughing and we treat each other with respect. Talking is one of the thinks i like to do so this job keep me doing what i enjoy the most

Pros: Call centre have lot of work to do and one can talk from the morning till you leave but its also shows you the different people around you

Work Non Stop (WNS)

Typical work day is me being allocated work for the day. My co-workers are the highlight to my work day. Without them and their ranging/varying personalities, my days would be depressing. I have learnt some additional Excel skills. Challenging aspect of my work is the slow systems.

Pros: Monday to Friday, Start-time is not too early
Cons: Location for transport purposes is a negative

Excellent at learning and applying what I have learnt

I am a believer in anything she/he can do, I can to as well. And that work done by a team will always surpass that which is done alone. Every objective or goal can be achieved, it takes commitment, dedication and willingness. The best challenge is being able change an angry customer to a happy one because if one can accomplish that, any other challenge can be accomplished.

Excellent customer care skills,.

A good relationship of between the co-workers is a high light. A typical work day. I enjoy the appreciation i get from customer when their services they order from me are up and running helping the business operate and the thanks we get for an irate customer when we have resolved his query. I have learnt to have patience and to multi task.I have taught myself to walk in someones shoes. The biggest challenge is not having an enough support system to help the customer to the fullest. As most people with knowledge of the business process have left it can be difficult to get the full know how of how to go about resolving certain queries.

Pros: Great opportunity to getting ahead in the company.
Cons: Long working hours

Would like to work for an employer that values customer satisfaction

Enjoy my job, the greatest challenge is to interact with different people every day and it give me great satisfaction to be able to solve customer complaints or queries at meet their demands or expectation.

Pros: the company offer room for growth if you are willing to climb up and move within the company. If you are not working hard you will not reap the benefits
Cons: Long hours that required dedication and dilligence
