A typical work day for me has a lot of various focus points as i work at Virgin Active as a receptionist. Greeting and welcoming every client is the most basic and important duty of my job, which i utterly enjoy as I communicate with everyone and make the most out of the day. Im currently assistant for the Administrator and portray in various duties for Admin. Excellent telephone etiquette. Recently went for training to learn about becoming a manager. I have learnt so much that i am willing to show and give my experience and skills to every person where possible. My relationship with co-workers are good, i get along with everyone as there is a variety of us and try to avoid any conflict amongst other colleges. What I enjoy mostly about being a receptionist is communicating, getting to know your people and doing duties to my best ability. Assisting clients would be the highlight of my day at work.

Great Leaning curve
Virgin Active hours are hectic especially in winter because you get to work as early as 04:30 and knock of as late as 21:00 in the evening. Having your own transport will be an advantage they do not offer transport. There are no bonuses during or end of the year not even R100. Receptionist wise you gain so much knowledge and customer service.Telephone etiquette. it is a great learning curve.They also offer trainings. There's a strong teamwork.

What i learned from my previous job
Working at Virgin Active help me to build my commutation skills,i am able to deal with difficult customers andcome up with solution right away.Am able to work under pressure and am very punctual. I am Mahlatse Mathabathaa 28 years old lady,i am a good team working lady and alway enjoy what i do at work. Am able to work under pressure,am able to deal with difficult customers and make sure i come up with solutions right there and then

It was very good to work at virgin active I grown so much and I have learnt so many thing.environment was very good also,treatment also was good.good communication and easily to handle the challenges.

Good
the work we put on the day does not match with our salaries.. in fact we doing a lot of work with less money. we come up with our thinking skills to save for the company but we don't get enough of what we put on the table. if we doing comparison with other departments we are the one who paid less but we are the one who save thousands for the company.. and we working with extreme dangerous goods.. we still have to maintain the image of the company.
Pros: I would love to have work that pays more.

Excellent learning curve
Totaly different working environment, interact alot with different people, im not just at the back office im also on the floor building relationships with our members and finding out if their happy and if they have suggestions, work with different kinds of contractors and suppliers, we have monthly trainings to upskill ourselves.

Learning curve
I am an outgoing person who loves working with teams but also a self starter who doesn't mind working alone, I work smart and learn fast I'm always looking for a challenge to overcome I enjoy the fitness industry as I also keep fitness so it's nice to take people through it

Great employer
It great interacting with different people from different back grounds. Ensuring that I deliver the best service so that our clients come back.I have a great relationship with my coworkers as I'm always open and willing to help.This company has thought me how to deal with difficult customers and handle pressure.I enjoy planning everyday and excelling member service which is resolving their quiries at time and be the best .
