Growth and Development.
Great Company to work for. There's great growth and Development potential. Having worked for Tsogo I have grown as an individual and that has benefited my team as I am an individual that shares knowledge. Tsogo sun also has many training and development platforms which translate into a huge support for growth and development. Job security is also a comfort you enjoy working for Tsogo.. Working hours are long and leave little time to rest but either than that it's a great company.

Working as sous chef,it's a challenge because of you deal with to many aspects and lot of concentration, like guest complaints, food stock count,hotel equipment count and staff time table and dealing with food suppliers. The relationship with works is professional and work related. What I have lean is to deal with pressure, complaints guest and staff complaints. What I enjoy mostly is when the food cost is good and is within line with the company set policy. When guest are complaining about food and service.

Good learning curve
A typical work day is only when guests are less than 150 where chefs are not running so much and I enjoy when its busy it helps with my speed, my co-workers listen to me which makes our a lot easy so we have a good relationship, I learned that cooking more complex than people think and its an art, the most challenging aspects of the job dealing with guest complains and dealing with management after wards.

Duties: As Food and beverage supervisors at Sun coast casino (F&B) my duties are to make sure that all of the business operations are up and running for all the five bars that am managing. Make sure that all the new staff are given training, scheduling and managing employees, as well as overseeing inventory, including food and beverages, supplies and other restaurant equipment. Most all of making sure that we cut down on costs. Make sure that all our guest are happy, resolving customer complaints regarding food quality and service and making sure the business complies with health and food safety regulations. In addition, I do all my Bar Stock takes & make sure staff follow the company rules.
Pros: SUN COAST CASINO (GAMING) is one of the top CASINO in the in DURBAN. It is a well-known for hosting big groups, when it comes to events. They can host both children and adults. It sells best food buffets menu and accommodates a lot of people. It broadcast all kind of sports that guests are willing to watch & PLAY
Cons: Monthly Operating Equipment stock counts Bar stock counts and running functions (60pax to 150 pax) As a waiter & bartender I made sure I come early at work so I can do my bar preparation that includes cleaning my bar, making sure my classes are clean, I fill the fridges, prepare my cocktail garnish. I serve my guests cold chilled drinks with a smile on my face.

Execellent company to work for
Typical work day Manages executive's calendar and independently schedules appointments. Research on internet as required by the executive, ▫ Screens incoming calls and correspondence and responds independently when possible. ▫ Directs preparation of records such as agenda and notices and minutes for corporate meetings. Arranges complex and detailed travel plans and itineraries, compiles documents for travel-related meetings. Re-routes urgent matters for attention in the absence of the Functional Head. Communicates with company senior executives, managers, and external stakeholders. My relationship with my co workers are excellent, friendly environment. I have learned so much from the company. I have learned that it is important to get to know your coworkers, as well as meet other peers outside of your company. Networking is important. I enjoy working for the company hence I stayed for more than 13 years, I enjoyed learning new things all the time and multitasking.

No day is the same as the environment is a high volatile one, supporting a 24 hour operations. immediately when you get to the office there is most likely someone there to see you and consultant with HR matters so one is busy from the get go never a dull moment or a time to be bored. I have learnt interpersonal skills especially dealing with different individuals on a daily, ive also learnt how to use various systems as quick as possible because we service a large number of people. long working hours but job fulfilment there as you watch and see peoples life changes.
