Call centre environment I've worked with Telkomsa for a long time
I've worked with customers for twelve years moving from one department to the other within the call centre, I like working with customers, solving problems, advising customers on how to handle their accounts. I wish I was a psychologist to be able to help people resolve their problems on daily basis. It was good working in an open plan office that gave me the opportunity to know and build a good relationship with my co-workers. I have learned that patient is a virtue one must take time to know and understand things especially that are around you at all times. I enjoyed my clients especially those who come with attitude and know what they want I managed to deal with them but the problem was they ended up not wanting to be helped by anyone but me every time the come through. Challenges are when my boss is on my toes I like working in my space and I will deliver more than the company wants. I like my job and I always want to make my clients happy
Pros: Its easier when I understand the jub because it makes my life easy and will be able to achieve my goals
Cons: I don't mind working long hours as long as it pays extra to my salaties

Wide range of opportunities
Communication skills made easy understood in form of continuous improvement and training . Company had training facilities and materials that reflect a true picture of what happens in the real connection as soon as you've connected. I've learned good work ethics and interact better to relate with colleagues.

Open mindedness vast growth and development mass factor of opportunities
It's freedom of excellent quality and value of service attained , sales on guaranteed leads . I was even given an opportunity to study and develop in areas I never knew I could especially psychologically. Managing customers and taking lead of the call.

Learning and patience pay off
Work day starts very early bel g busy Teamwork is always the best but does not make me incapable to work individually Learned a lot of customers needs how to work with their frustrations always trying my best to assit as much as I can . I chose this career and I love doing the Job I do. Challenges are at every work the way we handle them is what makes u overcome them ..the end result must be a happy customer

Excellent Learning Curve
Worked for 18 Years at Telkom. Went on numerous courses within the company. Telkom outsourced to WNS. WNS only kept Telkom employees working for +/- 6 months than retrenched all of us.

My Daily life
I work with technicians on daily basis. Give out required equipment and capture it on SAP. I have a very good relationship with co-workers and vendors, I believe that one has to be happy in the workplace because we spend more hours there. I have learnt to do housekeeping, I practise that at home and my life has changed drastically because I know where I've placed important documents and how to do audits. I enjoy giving service to the customers and helping the technicians with ideas, finding out what nature of a fault the are experiancing. I have a technical backround.
Pros: Career is broad, one can get easly promoted

Good customer relation (internal and external)
I have extensive experience in data capturing, reconciliation, filing and accounts clerk related duties. I have demonstrated the ability to work in a fast paced environment without comprising quality and accuracy. I have good organizational and time management skills and deadline driven. Established a good working relationship with the clients. I offered general administration support.
Pros: good salary perks and enjoyed the level of work

Im a hard worker can adopt to environment easily...
Im a mature woman who has been in the corporate industry for over 20 years I can adopt easily to a new environment because im a very friendly person Eager to learner no matter the chalenges and also adopt my knowledge and skills Im a Hard worker can always sees a task through to the end I take ownership in every task that is given to me and I can put my name on any job assigned to me Im Always willing to help others
Pros: Not much oppetunity for promotion ,because unfortunately it is about who you know and not what you know

I learned to work smart. Nothing is impossible if you are focused on your goals.
I am easy to work with. a peoples person whom my colleagues loved. I enjoyed going to wok and to doing what I knew best. There was never a dull day as time never dragged along. I was always busy. I learned that there is real pleasure in work well done and even the greatest challenges could be dealt with if everyone work hand in hand.
Pros: I learned from my company experience that team work is fulfilling and that happy people are productive.
Cons: There were no cons.

I started in TELKOM SA in 1993 as a student,
I started in TELKOM SA in 1993 as a student, and in 1996 I Qualified as a technician with National N Diploma in Electrical Engineering .During the period 1999 to 2000 I was the Chairperson of Communications Workers Union branch where I was involved in negotiations with Management and representing the Workers on Labour issues and conflict resolutions. In 2000 I became the Operation Manager and went successfully to complete Accelerated management programme, and I registered B-comm with Unisa in 2001 but only up to 2nd year reason being I had to concentrate on my AOMDP which I completed in 2004 with Durban Institute of Technology. In 2005 I registered B-tech degree in Project Management with Central University of Technology which I successfully completed in November 2006.
Pros: I think there is a challenge in the work that I am doing
Cons: No personal growth as there are no opportunities
