Hard working environment

Breakdown and the downtime gets you out of your comfort zone, We usually work with huge equipment so it is a very heavy job especially for women. So I have to be fit and mentally focused each day I wake up to go to work. We have a very wonderful team that understands team work, so whatever the day has for us we are always ready to tackle the day. What I have learned is working together as a team and understanding each other differences and be open to learn gets you far. The most challenging part when you have to get the plant going with mo spares or resources to carry out a certain task

Pros: Great learning n skills development environment
Cons: Less chance of growth

Excellent

The different machinery and operations helped me understand engineering better. And helped me grow my knowledge exponentially which even sparked my interest in sharing my knowledge even ended up facilitating boilermaking, felt sharing my knowledge can help someone have as much interest as I have of the field.

Pros: Great opportunity for learning
Cons: Dangers associated with the processes

Excellent technical manufacturing environment to learn more

Scaw Metals is a technical manufacturing environment, as a result, the environment is challenging and there are always new lessons learned. The environment is never business as usual and as such everyone is kept on their toes having to think on their feet. As a QA Manager, I am responsible for the overall quality management systems of the company and this has equipped me with interpersonal skills and the ability to converse on all levels of the organization, being a team player and able to enhance cross function relationships.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Unpredictable working hours
