SARS is an.excellent place to hone ones skills. Itss great to grow in ones career however career progression is limited. There benefits are awesome:medical aid,group life for yourself and dependends and/or kin etc. Study burdaries to further ones career are available. The work enviroment is open, welcoming & warm. The remuniration is decent.

Excellent learning curve
I am a 44 year old male hard working and very cooperative. My daily work include coordination of stakeholders i.e internal and external. I enjoy team work and perform better when in team spirit. Challenges in my work is when stakeholders especially external do not meet deadlines.

• Establish and maintain the overall plans for executing all DR procedures and understand their interdependencies. • Establish and maintain detailed DR communications and command and control plans through a change management process. • Work with the IT technical staff to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle. • Develop and understand all testing necessary for a successful DR execution. • Schedule and lead all DR exercises. • Provide ongoing feedback for risk management, mitigation, and prevention. • Represent disaster recovery cost requirements in the annual budgeting process. • Regularly report Disaster Recovery activities to upper management. • Act as liaison for auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes.

Excellent company to work, but no growth in terms of promoting hard workers.
I have worked for the current company for more than 12 years, through out the years I have moved through departments and each time I gain new knowledge and new experience. But the sad part is that I am still on the entry level. My hard work is not recognize by offering job promotion. As an employee I am expected to apply for any new positions advertised and even though I apply, my application is overlooked because that position advertised has already someone who is expected to occupying it. The advertisement is just a formality. That is my frustration with working for government departments.
Pros: Tax changes everytime, there's always opportunities to expand knowledge by attending the inhouse training

Great home away from home

Good learning curve
