Garduate Programme a huge Success
Over the past few years within my Graduate program at SARS. I have obtained multiple skills and learned a lot from my co-workers who were always willing to help. My development program encouraged me to innovate compliance reporting techniques which were not seen in the division before. While it may have been a challenge to acquire sufficient resources, team support and overall co-operation played a vital role in accomplishing new capabilities for the division.

Its great working for this company, vast number of people makes you want to learn and do more for your country, meeting new challenges and resolving them makes learning worthwhile.

My typical day at work
I have good relationship with other managers and as well the staff. The environment that I work in has a lot of challenges. Things are not stable, you always have to come up with the alternative plans each and every minute. I deal with client issues and resolve them. I have learnt that communication is key in a service environment. I enjoy challenges therefore the environment that I am in gives me just that.

Excellent
data analysis Customs and Excise operations, supervising and strategic advising operation in decision making. I have over 10 years’ experience working at SARS Customs and Excise division as a Customs Specialist doing performance analysis, reviews and in depth statistics for Customs and Excise in Port of Entries around the country. I have worked in MIDP/ APDP division for over 5 years as well. My role at Customs was both operational and strategic in that I advise on operational matters and assist on strategic decision for all port of entries as I am based in Head Office working closely with office of Chief Officer: Customs and Excise. I believe I am capable and qualified enough to do this kind of a job. I also have enough experience with reports writing, budget reviews and short and long term planning in a big organization.

Was selected as on of the top ten performers for the contract
I am at a point whereby i can honestly say that i have solid work experience and industry knowledge, to be an asset to any organisation. All i do however now need is a permanent position as long term is the way forward for me. I am a person that takes the bull by the horns and makes a success of whateva challenge comes my way.

Change is of the essence
Working at this company gave me an opportunity to develop to the person that I am today. My work day exists of daily diary management, handling of petty cash and ordering of stationery. I do report writing and have to consolidate a Year-end report, I have to assist co-workers with proof reading of their respective reports. My relationship with my co-workers are excellent and we work well together. I can work individually if it is expected of me and work well together with my co-workers. I have learned a lot about myself, tolerance and how to present myself to others. I enjoy working in a team, I enjoy working together with other people and I enjoy that I can do what I love and that I have the opportunity to be part of delivering an excellent piece at the end of the day. The most challenging a aspects of the job is to work with middle management and top management, you have to learn how to handle them and you have to build a good relationship with every single one of them.

Improvement needed
-Good relationship with co-workers -Excellent team player -Acting in Managerial Position and taking care of 12 employees -Responsibility and taking care of the country's needs I enjoy new challenges and better career opportunities as I am go getter self-discipline person. Learning on daily basis as the industry keeps on change. To embrace change as it is part of our lives, always staying positive and avoid negativity.

Knowledge of sars core system
Capturing new registration.ITR12 ,ITR14 IRP6. Tax clarance.IRP5, Educating taxpayer. RVO, capturing companies. Small business.provisional tax, VAT. We work well with my co- workers, we're team player,helpfull,honest.integrity.Good communication
