retrenched Reviews

I started out as a Debtors Clerk and then went over to Senior Administrator.

Everyday with Namaqua Wines SA was hectic, you had more work that time in the day, I had a good ongoing relationship with my co-workers, when we where in on big office or later my own office, we always tried to make time to enjoy each others company. I have learnt to be still and five my utmost best everyday to everybody, I learned to work under pressure and to always make sure the Company grows, I enjoyed the most when the Company would once a month have a braai or something to eat, and everybody can go and enjoy it in work hours in the Lapa at work. The most challenging aspect of my job was when you need to call the Clients and to convince them that there account is outstanding, and many Clients where impossible, but you had to still be respectful, friendly and kind, and know what you are talking about.

Pros: Monthly wine
Cons: Long hours with no extra payment

Larger Portfolio and Increased Leadership Skills

I was unfortunately part of the third round of retrenchments within the group over a 12 month period. The group is since in dire financial crisis. 2017 has not been a good year for the building industry.

Pros: One of five co-founders of the NMC Gauteng Branch and therefore an environment whereby I could excel and test all of my abilities successfully.
Cons: Head Office based in CT and vast discrepancy in culture and manner of business.
