Nestle Reviews

Life time experience

My first IT project was in 2014 where I was part of a 450 million project to contract a new Egron and my role was to design and build a new LAN for that factory. This is what I learnt from that experience, first was respect, respect for myself and respect for others, secondly was communication and the catastrophic result of failing to communicate and lastly I learnt to be firm in my decisions and be assertive about it. My second project was to build a complete new Hyper V for the factory this was supposed to be an easy one but it wasn't because, one assumptions and poor planning, two lack of knowledge and skills and thirdly no risk assessment. What did I learn? First and obvious I learnt to never assume anything, each project is different and must be treated differently. Secondly I learnt to plan and double plan and last I learnt to take responsibility for my mistakes. The most challenging aspect of my job has been the lack of infrastructure and shortage of budget.

Pros: Great opportunity for learning
Cons: limited growth

Most enjoy the interactions with me team and the ability to coach.

I enjoy the fact that I am able to assist my team members in achieving the desired results in an ever changing, very much dynamic environment. The most challenging aspect would have to be the volume of expectations. A typical day is not really something that can be explained as the amount of monotony is very little from a day to day basis.

Pros: Great opportunities if you are willing to relocate
Cons: Extremely long working hours

A day in packaging specialist life

My day starts by checking mail afterwards operational review meetings are scheduled for an hour. An hour is taken by sorting out issues highlighted the day before. Planning of trials, supplier audits and SAP related work are handled. I enjoy almost everything about my job except that it is in Harrismith. Harrismith is far away from my job and my family.

Pros: Good pay considering experience
Cons: Far away from city
