Not satisfied due to the fact we are not paid following our educations history we are payed the same wether you've been there 10 years or one month reached grade 10 or went to college

Good company to work for.

great company, great culture, great rewards, great people and great experience - Good growth opportunies - Leadership so involved in managing people and takes Talent Management process seriously - During my time I have learnt so much. all the opportunities given to me have allowed me to grow so much on a personal capacity as well as professionally and career wise - Its a great company with a good sense of balance in terms of different generatioons e.g. Gen Y, Gen X, Baby Boomers and Silent Generation - The job I do has allowed me to learn so much to an extent that it has stretched me out of my comfort zone

Excellent leadership skills

Start at 5 am ,cash up night shift,balance shift and pump readings. Submit all figures to head office, do the days grv's , have staff meetings , make sure shelves are well stocked. Order stock that are short

My engagements at work

I plan and organize my weekly schedules. I would read emails and prioritize according to importance. I am a team player when one of the team members is not available I attend to the calls or queries concerning that member. I always take ownership of the tasks that I lay my hands on. I have learnt the importance of communication and collaboration. I enjoy transferring skills to the business users. The most challenging aspect of my job is to determine the users training needs. Users most of the time apply for training and only discover during training that this is not really what they should be trained on. Seemingly users don't understand their job roles and functions.

Pros: Last year in August I was promoted to a Senior Trainer
Cons: I am based in Cape Town and would like to join my family in Johannesburg

What I can bring to your company

I am passionate about working with people and seeing how the bottom line of the company expands whilsts the careers of people expand at the same time. I have concluded Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA's) in countriesoutside of South Africa with union who have members who are employed with Engen successfully where both parties interests have been looked at. I have acquired top talent all over the world via networking sources and have managed to ensure the development of our internal talent via our talent management process. I am responsible for the performance management process and have managed the calibration of the scoring process of all staff within the international division of Engen in all 15 countries where we operate.

Area Manager/relationship

I managing the relationship between Engen and the dealers or people who are running filling station. I am more like their CEO as they cannot do anything without my approval. I enjoy the role because I do my own planning everyday.
