Career growth
My day at work starts with running integration processes into the finance ERP system. I journalese any inter company transactions and consolidate my business unit to balance this. I am currently responsible for 5 other business units so I ensure that I delegate work equally to my subordinates. I reconcile all my general ledger accounts monthly and any outstanding items or variances are rectified within the next period. i review payroll and process the relevant accrual journals. I have a good relationship with my co-workers my motto is "life is simple why complicate it". In the 3 years that I have been in Barloworld I have learnt to be independent, self reliant and growing into managing people. I enjoyed working with people and being a key decision maker in our operations environment. The most challenging is when I started taking over more business units because we were short staffed however I welcomed the challenge as part of my growth.

I work 8 hours per day, with 30 minutes break, doing debtors which includes cash up and collection, challenge is when customers don't keep their promises for paayment

Passionate about Supply Chain and Logistics
I am currently employed as a Controller: Operations Admin at Barloworld Logistics on the KLL Distributors site. My roles and responsibilities involve inventory management within the multi-temperate warehouse facility. Additional functions include assisting in inbound, outbound and distribution planning. KLL Distributors currently experiences numerous operational concerns to which I owe my learning and growth. I have enhanced operational procedures and processes through constant improvement proposals to higher level management. One such proposal involved introducing a delivery and dispatching sequence on the KARS system to which truck driver’s offloaded stock at delivery points. As a result, damages and returned stock statistics reduced and trip stops/points increased by a significant percentage overtime. I have also managed to reduce stock loss by over 50% within 4 months through theft detection and theft action policies and procedures.

I learnt a lot and I loved it.
The work at Weza was amazing. I learnt Data Capturing and I loved it. I also worked alone, there were other employers but they were out in the field most of the day. I relocated to the Strand in December and now I am sorry because to get work like that was once in a million and I blew it by relocating. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the work I did. I did my work every day, sent reports in every day.
Pros: I dont think I would have gone any higher, honestly I did not want to go any higher because that would mean to relocate to Howic and I preffer working alone.
Cons: I have nothing bad to say. Not about the hours, not about the salary, nothing.

This plays a vital role in the day-to-day planning for the business and has developed my analytical skills further.

An eagerness to learn and able to lead.
What I like most of my job is the challenges of meeting clients needs. Working with a great supportive team and having a good relationship with clients.

Open to challenges- nothing is impossible
I work for a great company, with strict deadlines, and loads of pressure, it is an Enviromental Logistics Company . I work with 60 drivers, I am part of the EE Committee, where I represent my Company with transformation, I assist my drivers with their leave payouts from the NBCRFI, we do Smartcoms, where communication is vital, and ensuring the well being of our drivers. I love what I do, I have been with my Company for 15years, this shows ones Character, I also would love a new challenge and change .
Pros: I believe in having no gaps in the Workplace and if one is hands on, a Promotion is definitely a way forward.
Cons: my Job requires a lot of long hours, this comes with dedication.
