Excellent opportunity to learn new industry and apply my banking knowledge to add value
My role was primarily intended to support the Business Development function in business pipeline building, competitor analysis, and ensuring a balanced risk-return matrix as the company embarks on an Africa growth strategy, I have managed to enhance my division's significance within the company.I managed to position the division not only as a Business Development support, but also a support to the core business of the company by providing insight analytics that enable bespoke commercial activities at the nine airports and play a lead role in enterprise risk management.
Pros: The aviation industry in South Africa remains untapped from commercial background viewpoint, thus offers opportunity to break ground
Cons: Being a state-owned entity, the pace of the much needed change in a forever evolving industry usually lags

Learnings
Working at Aiports company was fun and a learning experience for me.I got along very well with my co workers since im a team player,i am able to take orders and work well without any supervision.it was a good experience since i got to meet new people every day,from different parts of the world with different cultures and different believes.I've also learnt that in my position as passenger information agent i should treat all people equally regardless of their background,nationality or cultures.all passengers deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.I have also learnt to become a very good listener and go give attention to smalldetails.In a nut shell ive learnt to embrace that we live in a diverse world where we are all important and should be treated as such.

A great environment to gain experience
Resolving queries and motivating and encouraging employees to study further to develop themselves and improve their work performance, i have a good relationship with colleagues and share work together well with them to meet the objective of the organisation. I have learned to work under preasure and engage with people at all different literary level and be able to assit and resolve any learning and development issues.

Excellent business model
Great opportunity to showcase one’s skills and responsibilities but not given that opportunity becasue of the hostile HR work environment. Enioyed interacting with colleagues. A very good environment to grow (if one reported directly into the business and not in HR). HR team not knowledgeable and this causes confusion in the business. The main objective of the HR team and their focus is on recruitment rather than focusing on how to curb the high turonver level.
Pros: Great opportunity to interact with business unit managers and employees.
Cons: Long working hours. No work/life balance. Hostile, political work environment.

Career growth
A typical work day in my organisation is fast paced. Working in HR has a lot of deadlines and cut off times. The running of a successful payday depends on the efforts of all business partners in HR.

Different learning experience
The company is a good self- workmanship mentality , Individual work gets done fruitfully and meeting outcomes are adhered to. The work is not day to day driven, it can be fast paced on monthly reporting and quarterly reporting and then quiet again at times. The team assist with challenges that colleagues might have and are very innovative and at times the environment is not conducive. I have learnt independence, and team engagements scheduling , organizing and Coordination. AnalayZing information that was built by myself and assisting others and see them succeed. The challenge is you are not constantly motivated.

Good organizational culture
he staff and culture are generous, caring and professional. Management supports employees as they face the challenges related to serving the community with limited resources. The most rewarding aspect of the work was the ability to help people lift out of policy and to complete the investment in underserved parts of the County.

Working for the airport is very dynamic and interesting, every day is different with new challenges and learning lessons. I have been with the company for about 4 years and i dont stop learning since i am working with
