Not adaptive to best practice and evolving trends

I love a challenging environment that forces me to stretch my knowledge and skills, however I also respect mature organisations that adapt to 21st Century trends and truly puts people first. I believe that role clarity and having set and clear expectations which are openly communicated, gives one room to succeed and thrive. I also believe that trusting people's capability and ability to deliver and not micromanaging them, brings out the best in them. I am one such person.

I am looking for growth

my typical day at work entails meeting different people from different backgrounds, it is interesting and exciting. on a day to day basis i assit customers with queries, giving them accurate information and problem solving. what i enjoy the most about my job is the diversity we have here at OR Tambo airport, I enjoy learning new things daily. The only challenge i have is difficult customers, which i always try my utmost best, to serve without losing my temper or being unprofessional.

Excellent

It's an excellent exciting job where you meet different kinds of people around the world and do customer service and get to know different kinds of languages and cultures. Very busy and tempting industry at the same time

Motivation

I have a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management majoring by Industrial Psychology attained from the University of Fort Hare, Alice. I also attended trainings relating to HR and these are the Skills Development Facilitator Training, HR Assistant Training, and Performance Management Training, Basic Payroll Training. Through these training programs, I have developed all-round man, and professional capabilities, which have enabled me to succeed in various responsibilities and assignments.I am highly focused, resourceful, creative and innovative in getting my program objectives accomplished and I am good in networking and in motivating others. My experience, qualifications and knowledge are backed up by a personality trait suitable for the position. I am an independent self-starter, high achiever, focused and dedicated. I am a good communicator and I keep good working relations with colleagues, clients and stakeholders in my work environment.

Airport Operations

Managing an array of functions including Airport Operations (Landside, Terminal, Airside), Maintenance and Engineering, Fire and Rescue, Security, Customer Services. No day is the same, although the work involves planned airport operations activity, dealing with people/cutomers (as passengers), people / stakeholders (as airlines, ground handlers and other airport operators) is ever changing. As a manager of the bigger part of the airport, mantainng a good working relationship and understanding with direct and indirect reports is key to success and delivering as expected.

Pros: Variety in everyday challenges and solutions.
Cons: May have reached the ceiling within current operations position.

Excellent business model

Great opportunity to showcase one’s skills and responsibilities but not given that opportunity becasue of the hostile HR work environment. Enioyed interacting with colleagues. A very good environment to grow (if one reported directly into the business and not in HR). HR team not knowledgeable and this causes confusion in the business. The main objective of the HR team and their focus is on recruitment rather than focusing on how to curb the high turonver level.

Pros: Great opportunity to interact with business unit managers and employees.
Cons: Long working hours. No work/life balance. Hostile, political work environment.

I enjoy working at this company and it has thought me a lot about supply chain

IT is a very free spirited environment, friendly. I work with most humble individuals at work. I have learned a lot about purchasing and compliance, including enterprise development and supplier development within the organisation. the most challenging part was always to constantly learn new legislation and the procedure manuals would always change.

Pros: its a very learning curve, since the policies and porcedures of the company are always changing
Cons: Not updating procedure manuals in time

Unstable environment

The environment is semi public and semi private. It has a great employee scheme and culture. Most of the people here are professionals and have been with the company for many years. The company is prone to restructuring.

Excellent opportunity and risk management exposure

I am currently working as a Risk Management Intern for Airports Company South Africa, my role involves mitigating and collaboration on Risk tasks, and assisting in managing all departmental Risk Management issues, problems, goals as well as Business Continuity Management. I believe Risk management as a function is in a state of constant evolution and the use of data and statistical analysis is a critical risk management technique that will enable organizations to make better and faster decisions at an increasingly lower cost and be able to capitalize on opportunities. With my qualifications and Risk Management exposure, skills in analysis, problem solving and communication; I believe I can assist in enhancing the value of Risk Management in your organisation if given the opportunity.
