Excellent learning

Working as a student assistant helped me gain more knowledge in term of using excel , database , Microsoft word and ms outlook . Working as an assistant I learnt team work , although it was a bit stressing when we miss deadline because someone has not finished their job as yet .i gained the ability to deal with people as I am pretty easy going, I usually don't get upset easily

Pros: Great opportunity for position
Cons: Long working hours

A good career start up

I generally work with students using the physical laboratory at the University of Johannesburg. I assist them with using various equipment in the laboratory as well as supervise them. I work hand in hand with the senior technician as he is in charge of and managers the laboratory. I have learned that patience is a key element in my line of work as English is not everyone's first language. I am presistant, eager to learn, have good communication and social skills and I am a hard worker. The most challenging aspect of my job is having to assist almost over 50 students a day as the majority of them arrive in large groups to use the equipment in the laboratory.

Pros: Meeting new people
Cons: Long working hours

Day to Day

If you are looking for experience as an investment officer, the company will give you great exposure. A lot of glory and benefits for operational staff. I enjoyed working at the regional office. Flexi hours

Pros: Flexi hours
Cons: Operational staff are given first priority.

Excellent learning curve

The nature of my degree course has prepared me well for this position. It involved a great deal of independent research, requiring initiative, self-motivation and a wide range of skills. I am able to take on the responsibility of this position immediately, and have the enthusiasm and determination to ensure that I make a success of it. I have always been a hard worker throughout my school and varsity days, participating in sports activities and getting good results which can be seen on my academic results. My desire to be successful and help others succeed has helped me push myself to always work hard and make a change in my life and others.

Pros: Leadership and promotional work
Cons: Long Hours

Excellent

I am a hard-working university student (BSc Computer Science and Informatics) currently attending University of Johannesburg doing my last year(2018). Throughout my academic career, I have been consistently praised as adaptable by my mentors and peers. While working on academic and extracurricular projects, I have developed proven teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills, which I hope to leverage into the Software Development role at your company.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours
