Excellent for a start

It is a good learning curve for graduates because you work flexible hours. having to deal with student inquires and responding to emails and telephones. redirecting calls to the relevant people within the department.

Pros: Flexible hours
Cons: No growth

Excellent

My typical work day depends on the load of work but as a lecture i Mostly get busy when i have lectures. I have a great relationship with my co-workers, we work in a team, help each other where we can. Working with different student on a daily basis has taught me to actually differentiate individuals, I am able to adapt easily in any given environment. Also working with has opened my eyes that you learn as you go and that you not always correct and that i should always be open to knew ideas. What i enjoy most is that i always deliver in time and that my student are doing great and this makes me look forward to my day. The most challenging aspect in my area at the moment is that you need to identify each student struggle and try to help where you can.

Pros: Great working environment for exposure
Cons: Flexible workers

Good skills development

It was a good experience as I had left the company now. I learnt how to work with people and the skills I got personally and professionally. I learned how to handle angry clients and working under pressure showed me that I can be productive more. Research skills gained as I was working on the field in people's houses. You get to know how the life of people in South Africa is. As colleagues we always helped each other when we encountered problems or restrictions. The most challenging thing about it was not getting a way to convince a client to give you the time but it was very interesting and always encouraging to get up in the morning and go to work

Pros: Good research skills
Cons: Arrogant and rude clients

Excellent Learning Curve

Since I have been working for the University of Johannesburg with in the Supply Chain and Logistics Department, we have been dealing with the best and most efficient ways of ensuring goods come in and out. On a monthly basis, analyzing the expenditure trends to see where changes are needed in order to be more effective and efficient. I was also involved in helping to redesign the Route Planning at UJ and the warehouse layout that optimizes the effective utilization of space at the main warehouses based at the two main campuses. This was done to ensure that our Supply Chain is more effective as we began to expand on the goods kept in stock for the use of Academic staff and students for all 4 campuses. I have excellent communication skills. I am able to travel to different sites as would be required and I am keen to learn new skills and working towards what is needed to improve service delivery in your company.

Pros: Gained great experience in Supplier performance management
Cons: not appointed on a permanent position due to budget constraints within the University
