im working at Transnet port terminals Cargo. as intern .i did worked before as safety officer for eskom under ISO-Q .also worked at GVJ at an electrical Company as safety officer i have gain more knowledge in the safety field can work under pressure

Good
Training is good we work with senior artisans and technicians to attand breakdowns,shutdowns,general and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment. Do housekeeping and job card.

Mega-sized projects, good learning experience
Transnet is a good company to work for. I met and worked with great people, from various disciplines. We are currently handling mega infrastructure projects in rail, roads, pipelines, ports and terminals. I am Senior Engineer in Civil and Perway, Gauteng Region, and I am an Acting Manager: Civil and Perway, Cape Town Region.

• Attending maintenance and breakdowns • Fault finding • Repairing Equipments • Testing and Calibrating instruments, systems and equipment • Compliance with the health, safety and environmental systems • Test Equipment — safely use of test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, function generator, Simetrix, MATLAB and multisim software.

Great experience
To work at Transnet is a great experience and I learn a lot in terms of communication because I communicate with a lot of people during my shift e.g. maneger, supervisors, machine drivers and also department of planning by communicate with all of them I will run with no difficulties and meet my target, but it's challenging when machines breakdowns because I'm no going to meet my target.

Challenging Opportunities
A typical work day for me is to compile engineering documents as part of the project lifecycle process. I lead 3 projects of which 1 is mainly managing resources and contractors, 1 is finalising designs and the third is to complete concept designs together with design reports and criteria. I have to do planning and estimations for all projects that I am involved with. I have a positive relationship with my co-workers and we get the work done. I am quality and time driven. I have learnt how to lead different sized teams that are very diversed. I have improved my communication skills as well as my designing skills. I enjoy the team celebrations when we complete the projects on time and on budget. It gives a sense of appreciation. The most challenging aspects of my job is working with difficult resources that is not always motivated to complete their tasks causing delays in the delivery of finished tasks.

Very limited challenges cause of Hv as I'm a very proactive in light current most of our work is based on customer satisfaction. Learning or employee development is key here but if u fail any program brought to you it will take u time to progress

I learn a lot in this curve as instrumentation mechanian in the Petro Chemical Industry.
The company is big world class company with over 500 employees and different processes involve in its operation.The main co- business of the company is bases on Petro Chemical Industry, mainly focusing on the transportation of the product.
Pros: It is a very challenging experience to work in this such a world class company and learn all its expertise and processes.
Cons: Only standby.
