Great place to work.

Working for old mutual gives you opportunity to study and personal development. The only problem there is, is the huge gap between secretaries on executive level and those that work for lower management. Executive secretaries have bigger salaries and get more benefits. They should relook at and get the balance right.

Pros: flexible hours
Cons: promotions don't come easy.

Woking hours are from 8 to 5 Monday to Friday Saturdays 8 till 1 Looking for a non sales post no Saturdays No shifts No travelling Looking for growth opportunities Better salary Medical Aid and provident fund

Pros: Office is close to work great staff and management get along well with team and management
Cons: Working Saturdays, salary too little.no growth

Bank Reconciliations. month end reports.Unit trusts. Fund accounting

Working in a team of 20 members. Meeting deadlines. Preparation of month end packs.Mainly resolving queries in the Bank . Reconciling bank accounts. Dealing with clients via email.

Pros: Old Mutual is one of the top companies. The biggest investment company
Cons: Working overtime

Learning experience

Challenging and also interesting as I have been servicing Executive Financial Advisers. That meant dealing with high caliber of clientele in line with the said Advisers. What I have learnt is how to handle difficult clients who always expects best and professional Service. It has taught me to over deliver and also be Pro-Active. Being able to work independently without supervision. I enjoyed being able to solve any queries that were thrown at me and having the satisfaction of knowing that I have helped with giving my client peace of mind

Interpersonal ,and Intrapersonal learning carve

My most typical day at work is Tuesday because , that when most of the work is done, Tuesday is a busy day . In my current job environment I have learned many ways on how to used excel , Power point, and communication , eg verbal, emails, telephonically , non verbal, and personalities management. what I like about my job is its a flexible job, I work with people for people, I talk with different clients in deferent department , assisting them with their queries, I have a very good relationship with everybody I am work with, My Challenges would be lack of support, shortage of stationary and less growth.

You need to build a good relationship with direct report

This company is all about senior management and senior executives. Manager likes to take credit for work that you do. Lots of opportunity for study, however, when you put a request in the answer is always.....we cant do it now as the budget does not allow for it. When someone senior wants to do training it is always granted. Managers carry certain people.

Cons: however, when you put a request in for study it is declined due to budget

My aim to make a different clients,by making sure I advice them financially

U able to interact with different client,understand the importance role of advicing clients financial nd able solve any query,the most important is to reach ur target become a role model to your collegues,doing presentation to client is one of the easy thing to do,I'm very happy at old mutual,to experience something challenging for me it will be a good thing

Cons: 12 hours will be an appropriate time to follow up and do proper day planing
