Snapshot on my Experience in ER invironment
Typical Day as Head Employee Relations include but not limited to • Check the diary to plan for the day • Addressing ER issues on the table • Delegate task to subordinates • Received and/or submitted daily reports • Arranging and attending meetings with other stakeholders. • Investigate complaints or arguments to determine viability. I have develop a well relationship management over the years and I can read the mind of the employees. I have learned that respect is a key in the ER space, once I respect them mostly they open up and help me to execute my job I enjoy interacting with all employees, interpreting the Employment laws, arguing case at different labour dispute forums. It also allows me to be proactive. The most challenging aspect of the job is when instructed to do carry illegal or unlawful mandate
Pros: On top of my career development, I also become a better person person in relation to reasoning and development of personal skills
Cons: It takes time to develop a skills in dealing with Employee/Labour/Industrial issue decisively

Good space to increase experience
good relationship with co-workers, I've learnt a lot about finances, budget, and Safety, health, quality environmental management, and four systems, SharePoint, SAP, Lotus Notes, Bestime, Logitime, IBOdata. and office management skills

Good company to learn and develop in the industry
The companies provides opportunities to employees to develop through academic studies and mentorship programmes. I joined Mintek as a bursar for masters' studies and have now completed a PhD through the Mintek bursary programme. As a principal scientist, I am also a direct supervisor of about 10 employees (2 engineers, 2 scientists, 2 lab assistants and 4 student trainees) and a superintendent for the high temperature laboratory section of the division. I provide technical oversight on staff projects and also run my own projects from commercial clients and government. I have learnt staff leadership and management, project development and management, general research and development principles in chemistry, pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy. I have authored and co-authored manuscripts published in the open domain; that is in addition to the confidential client-Mintek technical project reports.
Pros: Great opportunity to improve level of education
Cons: Lack of appreciation of internal employees, they would rather get your junior at school to be your boss

Attributes
I am an honest, motivated, responsible, creative and organized person. Further to this, I am able to work in a group and attain objectives through a committee work. I have the ability to structure my own work in attaining objectives and meeting deadlines. Amongst other attributes I have the ability to learn technology easily e.g. computer programs. I am also a fast learner and willing to learn new things at all times.

I learn lot of to my company and I enjoy all the part of my job that I am doing. the most challenges in my job over head welding and a I look forward for near future I enjoy to work with people that open to me and I enjoy my work

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Lab work ( sampling and characterisation), we have weekly meeting with my supervisor to plan for the week and give progress report and last week of the month we have departmental meeting and present our work to the management. I have learned presentation skills and learnt technical report writing, research and analysing results, problem solving skills and troubleshooting. i enjoy learning new thing and challenges. finding solutions at all time. not coming up with excuses even when equipment are not working ,always have alternative and thinking on my feet.

Excellent learning environment with exposure to processing of different minerals.
A typical work day includes -communicating with clients, reporting findings to clients verbally or written; leading project team; ensuring administration tasks are up to date; ensuring OSH Act is followed and practiced; Data analysis; -Relations with co-workers are civil and very professional -I have learnt a lot in terms of mineral processing and process flowsheet development -I enjoy training and transferring skills to worker integrated learners -Balancing administration duties with technical duties

Learnt a lot from their process engineers
I have background in process engineering, mineral processing and pyrometallurgy from Mintek. During my experience at Mintek I gained analytical, problem solving and management skills in that I can process information given to me and execute tasks with great detail and precision, I can produce great results under pressure, I have a hands on approach to problems and can think through problems logically.

Great working exposure to SAP MM
I enjoy working for my company and believe that they have good people in management. It is a good company but I’m ready to handle new challenges and additional responsibilities, however those opportunities do not exist in my present position.
