Foschini Reviews

Definitely a huge learning curve

My experience at Foschini was Incredible in terms of the dynamic of retail and learning the ins and outs of the business. They definetly drive the term "customer service" but did not equip staff in the correct ways we were made out to be little kids in the big ocean Management certainly look down upon staff as well as degrade them in ways not appropriate we were Called thieves and they had no respect for us though we were bringing in the money and doing majority of the work, Im not saying the company is bad because I believe in it and in the brand but the management certainly not up to standard. I think in All fairness I don't regret my years of service but I did not appreciate being treated the way I did. I gave off excellent work results so I should have been treated with that in mind.

Pros: Teaches us everything to do with retail
Cons: Worst management I've ever worked with

Its a good company

Needs more incentive driven program. Company does not give full bonuses. Staff members does not have allot of growth. U stay in one position for years and management does not stand or support their staff members

Pros: good people
Cons: not people driven

Inspired by any challenge that I may encounter as learning curve to resolve issues

-staff training daily, manage stock-loss, delegate staff on their daily task and expect feedback daily before 16h30, manage daily e-mails, action promotions daily, customer service, a team-player and lead by example, resolve internal relations issues daily, checking of admin daily, Investigate any lost sales opportunities by e-mailing and corresponding with buyers and doing follow-ups daily, weekly and monthly and if its no resolve will involve my supervisor and will follow-up until its resolved. I never give-up to something that I believe in and will be persistent. I enjoy working under pressure as it keeps me on my toes. Most staff don't want to follow the company procedures and will try by all means to make your job difficult , but I always take it as a challenge. And also have learned that there are always two stories of each person and take time to analyze them before making a harsh decision.

Pros: Training for area manager position
Cons: In retail we work on from Monday to Sunday and during stock-take we work long hours
