There is a lack of leadership at my current Company. The peers employed have hardly any experience and are basically employed to satisfy the BEE numbers as required by Company Policy. I am a dedicated Professional that is also a team player but Quality Control has to be black and white and in my opinion it is unethical to push sub standard goods through to increase production.

Quick learner and hard woker

I'got Btech in Cost and Management Accounting 1 year 4 months as Project and Management accounting, 2 years as Junior Internal Auditor and Bookkeeper at PKG Consulting and 1 year as Office administrator at IPI I'm currently unemployed looking job. Thanking you in advance.

Working condition

My current job is challenging in a sense that due to the fact that i work outside as the nature of work requires me to maintaining overhead power lines ,under ground cables weather condition are often difficult aspecially in summer where there is alot of rain but having a good team that i work with makes things a little easier as we always working together helping each other fault finding at night in the rain and so forth.i have learnt alot in my current job working without supervision is the key thing i have learnt and mastered which keeps me motivated and going strong every day.

Pros: most important is safety is key and safety is number one
Cons: yes long hours are sumtimes a problem bht it does not happen every day

Quick growth within the company.

Problem-solving proficiency Interpersonal and Communication skills Initiative and motivational skills During my studies as well as my experiential learning I have done up till now, I have learnt/acquired many skills that enable me to be able to handle any challenge or task that is assigned to me. I have learned to plan and execute ideas/ projects within a specified period as well as to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. By heading various projects my leadership skills have been honed/ enhanced so as to effectively execute tasks, delegate responsibilities, liaise with all stakeholders, and to apply resources in a responsible fashion.

Application for Position

As Divisional Environmental and Quality Manager for a R350bn power utilities construction programme, a typical day would be safe guarding SHEQ for International funders (WB;IFC;FDB;AfDB) and securing tranches. Ensuring that Government platforms for environmental licensing (EIA;Water,waste, social, air) is maintained in planning and execution of construction. ensuring target of 8000Mw; 600km of line construction; is maintained and executed and aligned with SDG's. I have enjoyed the development and growth of people in achieving goals and have learnt that teams can achieve great growth. The most challenging aspects of the job relate to up skilling other disciplines e.g. engineering to achieve targets i.e. the immaturity of the Project Life Cycle Model.

Amazing Growth Path

My normal day starts with a teleconference with my subordinates at various sites, at Medupi, Ingula, Kusile, Majuba Rail and Duvha Power Stations. we do a review of the previous week then develop a weekly stakeholders engagement plan. I managed a team of 15 competent managers and I have a good professional working relationship with them. My position is fulfilling because each day has its own dynamics. I spend most of my days meeting with various stakeholders such as government, media, business chambers and organized labour associations to engage and discuss matters of mutual interest regarding the Eskom New Build projects. the most challenging aspect of my job is the demands from the stakeholders. working for this area in the business, which has a budget of over R350 billion comes with its own challenges and expectations from stakeholders.
