Driven, Motivated and ready to advance my career

I'm a 30 year old ambitious black female. I stared working fresh out of Varsity and I have never looked back. I've been with my current employer for 7 years and everyday is a bliss. work is fast paced, requires attention to detail, compassion and diligence. I work well my team, communication is key. we have morning safety meetings where we engage as colleagues and get a fresh perspective for the day ahead and help each other where we can. I enjoy doing presentations e.g (Performance management and absenteeism awareness).

Pros: the job is diverse
Cons: it offers minimal growth opportunities

Technology Strategy Manager

My typical work day entails engaging with people either on strategic or operational matters. I lead a research team of 400 staff and manage the Generation research portfolio. I have a wonderful relationship with co-workers as I believe in the notion that we can agree to diagree and we make decisions in the interest of the company. I love traveling and enjoying the wonders of the world which includes people, food and places.

Pros: good training and exposure. A variety of technical fields to choose from. Good company benefits
Cons: nothing to complain about. I believe I am the archietct of my own destiny and I can see a glass as either half full or half empty.

I'm not sure what review i should put together.

Everyday I think of applying for a job somewhere else I am not able to explain why I want to do that. This is the second company I worked for and comparing it with the previous is compared to day and night. Even if I measure with other companies, looking at elements like individual development, recognition and rewards and an environment where teamwork is encouraged, I find it hard to see other companies being able to match that. This is a place where one get given an assignment with expected timelines and the details are left with you to run with. you're only accountable if you do not meet the timeline. In my 18 years at this company I have learnt a lot from contract management, outage leadership, work management, engineering leadership and now dealing with quality management.

Pros: Development and growth prospects
Cons: Public perception

Great experience being at the construction site of Kusile power station.

It's a opening eye experience, being at the site of Kusile power station, seeing it coming alive by contributing my time, knowledge and previous experience. Meeting and associating with many kind of people from many cultures of around the world. The gaining of knowledge of how Philippines people work in chains to speed up production is a eye opening to the meaning of team work. The most challenging aspects of the Job here is the language barrier between Expatriate Engineers and other Co-workers from around the world.

Pros: Great experience for future references and job prospects.
Cons: Construction industry has very long hours and it's almost impossible to study futher.
