Summary

A typical day at work would be very busy, with lots of meetings and problem solvings. My relationship with co-workers is good, we talk and laugh but mostly we work. I have learnt communication skills, leadership skills and most importantly how to do the work. I enjoy pretty much everything about my job, especially being under pressure and utilising my potential to the maximum.

Pros: Learning a lot.
Cons: Long working hours,low wages.

Excellent TTL brand experiece working on global brands

I have been very fortuneate to have been employed by Distell for 18 years. At Distell I had the opportunity and exposure by working across all categories eg Wine, Sparkling / MCC, Cider, Whisky and Brandy. Not only do you get to develop strategies, brand plans with a TTL approach you also get to be accountable. To be measured on a brand s performance from innovation through to execution in market with sales teams allow you to grow as a marketeer, something I will always treasure. You have to work cross functional on a daily basis with Innovation teams, Project managers, Supply Chain, design agencies. It is important have build relationships with all stakeholders involved to ensure you can deliver. What I enjoy most is to have structure, working on Global brands and learning every day. My working hours are 830 till 16h30 but the focus is output driven. I do from time to time have to work late nights, early mornings etc but that comes with the jobs to ensure we deluver on deadlines.

-It's an interesting company to work for, it is very competitive and challenging, -I am a team player, I am able to work understand pressure and with or what ithout any supervision I still deliver my best - I enjoy most of when my colleagues ask me oh how to do things or implement or how to use our working tools /apps because I like taking responsibility and leading

Excellent learning curve

A typical work day with be having your team mtd in morning and discussion your targets for the day. It's a very friendly working company so relationship with co-workers is excellent due to everyone is always willing to help and go thee extra mile. First of all I've learned to be a better person, second of all to understand people and not dadge before knowing them. What I enjoyed the most was learning new things everyday, new systems, new ways to do things how to be more efficient. The most challenging aspect of the job was dealing with aggressive and sensitive customers.

They've provided excellent learning curves, flexible working hours and a company culture that's relaxed, encouraging and rewarding of great performers.

Cons: Not much room or opportunities for growth are available currently and rumours of retrenchments has everyone panicking currently

Good work experience

working at distell gave been a wonderful experience cause you get to know a lot more about the working industry and how many of the products that we use are produced,you get more understanding cause now you fuse the theory from university and the practicals .

Machine operator

I work as a assistant machine operator and I do the change over of parts , cleaning the area to avoid hazards.I assist also in the mantainence by giving artisan parts .
