My love for warehousing
From a COBOL background grinding in Production supporting batch and resolving prod incidents while optimising the system daily; I developed a passion for Data.Clean data. Well stored data. ETL effectiveness, costs of running,streamlining the team to produce the best systems,results and most importantly, serve the business and give them more than they ask for or even expect. I have veen working in many new technologies from my mainframr days. DATASTAGE, TERADATA, MS Stack(SSRS/SSIS/SSAS), Essbase cubes, DB2, Oracle warehouse, ORACLE developer, WORKFLOW,MDM, Data lineage, building the warehouse, data lakes,Hive and Hadoop, modelling data. Using agile principles has been a welcomed change to my world. A way to plug and fix...run cheaper queries, streamline a business. I have a lot to say about BI.

It was an awesome learning experience
At the moment I am currently unemployed,but I quiet enjoyed the time I worked at Absa as that was my first meaningful job.I learnt alot in that company because it enabled me to gain skills I did not have previously such as face to face selling and customer interaction and how to identify potetial markets that can be added within the company.

Excellent learning curve
Our days are mostly busy, specially on month end our batch gets very busy i am very friendly person, getting along with everyone i have learnt a lot of soft skills same as technical skills I enjoy coding a lot adjusting to agile is still a problem to us

Better than doing nothing
Having clients that we deal with teaches us to be patient and to put our selves in others shoes before saying anything bout them... I've learnt that not all things go our way and not everyone who smiles with u wants to see u prosper. I enjoy dedicating my time to clients and just sell products to them while building a strong relationship with them.

Daily intake
every day is a challenge, as you get to learn something new on a daily basis, you need to have the ability to work under pressure, i have learned how to discount/onboard PEP's do a full KYC report on entities/individuals

Great experience about Insurance
I have grown as an individual, was professionally challenged. I appreciate the knowledge added on to me about Sort term insurance. We had a Group of sales team, retention team and client services team. We all had out wacky Wednesday of making sure we double our daily target. It was fun and a fast learning environment.

Continually improving
My relationship with my co-workers is excellent, I pretty much get along with everyone. I enjoy being fully challenged. The most challenging aspect of the job is moving away from legacy systems that have crucial data and transferring the data that is stored there into the cloud.
Pros: Great exposure to financial sector and finding new ways to transform that sector through IT.

My review it was a meet expectations
I m highly self motivated person and i always display leadership skills in every thing that i do. I always value customers,colleagues and my supervisor/manager.What i learnt at customer service role is that you have to be patient and you must always listen to the customer,i must not judge a customer.To me a customer is the number one priority,because she is the one who pays my salary,without a customer there is no job.Sometimes there are clients who likes to play jokes if i am too serious and i end up smiling .
Pros: There are opportunities that you can grow,and you can multi-task and not to know only one job
Cons: I don't have a problem with long hours

Wide range of opportunities
Company has great benefits for staff, and really takes good care of staff. There is however a certain culture that most seniors operate in, and it's not enabling to most.
