I have worked at Absa Bank for the past 10 years (1 year includes a graduate programme). I am a responsible and highly motivated lady, with a firm academic background. I have completed a Master’s in Business Leadership (MBL) degree at University of South Africa – School of Business Leadership in Midrand, Johannesburg. I have also completed a B Com Finance and Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Finance at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (Howard College). I have a vast amount of knowledge and experience as a credit analyst with corporate, commercial and enterprise clients. I have been exposed to clients from various industries ie. transport, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, etc. I have a wealth of knowledge regarding business, industry and the macroeconomic environment and financial markets. I currently work with clients with a turnover in excess of R500 million (Corporate & Investment Banking clients). I would like to be advised if I am earning a market related salary

working at Absa bank gave me more experience than i thought, i have learned that working with people it's not as easy as i thought it'll be, but i learned to be patient, understand other poeople and their culture, the most challenging thing to do is trying to understand other people's problems,
Pros: it's not a nice place to work for.
Cons: to be able to allign salaries for other employees.
ITS IS A GOOD COMPANY COMPAN TO WORK FOR. WORKING WITH CLIENTS ON A DAILY BASIS IS AN INTERESTING THING BECAUSE YOU GET TO KNOW AND LEARN TO ACCEPT DIFFERENT PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS WITH DIFFERENT CHARACTORS AND SAME APPLIES TO THE COLLEAGUES. IN A WORKPLACE YOU ALL COME FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS BUT YOU LEARN TO ACCEPT THEM SO YOU CAN BE A GOOD TEAM WORKING HAND IN HAND WITH EVERY COLLEAGUE TO ACHIEVE MORE FOR INDIVIDUAL BENEFIT AND FOR THE COMPANY. I HAVE LEARNT TO BE PATIENT WITH PEOPLE BECAUSE NOT EVERY CLIENT YOU COME ACROSS WITH IS LITERATE OR EDUCATED. I HAVE LEARNT RESPECT EVERY PERSON REGARDLESS OF AGE. I ALSO LEARNT THAT BEING A TEAM WORK MAKES WORK EASIER AND CREATES GOOD WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND GOOD RELATIONSHIP AMONG COLLEAGUES.

I started working in Volkskas 1973 up until 2013 since then i have done Temporary work.
43 years experience in the banking industry I learned a lot . Changes in the Banking industry was one of the biggest challenges . I enjoy working with the Top Clients in the Business Industry giving them the best client services. My relationship with my co-workers was good with RESPECT. Daily commitment as a worker makes me proud. I have done several courses in the Banking Industry Obtained NQF 4 and NQF 5 as well as Regulatory Examination. My typical working day consists out of Set up appointment, create selling to obtain monthly targets, Administration, Reception, Answering Telephone calls and feedback to clients - Since I left the Bank in 2013 I did a Supervisor job at the Department of Education for the Re-Exams of the Matrices. Also worked as temp at Annique Health and Beauty Salon as Receptionist, Answering the phone , set up appointments and selling. At Sophia Rentals Property I learned the Rental Management System ,House Inspections and Banking Recons.

Big company where the employees are a number. No regard for the employees well being. Work work work
There is no typical work day. You are inundated with extra things to do by ones manager. Relationship with the manager is he says you do. Bully tactics. no support. sink or swim I love my colleagues. we are like a family and look out for each other. learning and development is hampered by budget constraint and time constraints out of the office. sales are driven. no employee retention. no opportunity for promotion
Pros: Free bank services, lower lending rate
Cons: No promotion opportunities. management too old and too white. no interpersonal skills. bully tactics
I have alot about insurances,home loans security documents , liason with attorneys and insurance
I have learned laison with insurance company by sending letter for update of the policies status and maturity dates,updating surrender values of policies and doing data maintenance on Absa system(polQ request ) for lapsed policy. Preparing and Data Capturing of Homeloans document for pre and post registraion of homeloan and checking the correctness and validating and creating files for storage of the documents. Retrival and dispatching security documents(bond documents,title deeds,suretyships,mortgage loan agreement document ect) to the attorneys for legal matters ,cancellations,secondary bonds and/or facilities and maitanance. I have learn to under a underpressure maintainig and meeting a Service Level Agreement that is Set for internal and external customers.

Cons: development and growth for employees is Slow

A typical work- working under a lot of pressure and being able to handle that kind of pressure in a very positive manner. Relationship with Co-workers-I'm a people's person loved by people what i have learnt- Through Teamwork we should be able to achieve or accomplish the Organisation's goals. Being passionate in serving our customers. i enjoy serving my customers to the best of my ability. (Giving an excellent service to the customer.) a Typical workday starts with being at the branch at 06h00 and planning day/ week ahead ,staff meetings at 08h00 , opening of branch with security in place at 08h30 . Walk through branch / building to interact with staff and see to hygiene/cleanliness of departments and building overall, OH & S . Attend meetings when required with contractors and senior management. Ensure that staff training are done as scheduled and according to learning paths on system according to specific roles. Do departmental audits and daily checking . Meet with clients whenever assistance are needed or complaints that has to be dealt with.
Pros: Work satisfaction
Cons: No more opportunity for promotion

Studied Safety health and environmental management and that is where my interest lies, I love interacting with people, i am a peoples person and very much ambitious, having worked for this industry as a junior safety officer i have attained enough experience and interest that gives me hope to carry on pursuing safety,working and studying to becoming what I desire and reaching my goals

Excellent learning experience
I am currently working at Absa Bank a Middle Office Consultant. Every day is a new day for a new learning experience. I look forward to coming to work, working with such loving and supportive team members. Our goal is to give the best service to our client and live up to our values. We love and respect one another. My success is their success. When my team member is battling I would help out and make sure he/she feels strong enough to face another or serve another client. We do a lot of different projects which is a good learning opportunity and gives us new skills.
