Excellent learning curve

I have NQF level 4. Been in retail management since 2009. I'm willing to relocate. I need 4 weeks notice. I run the perishable and long life department. Manage shrinkage and wastage. Ordering and receiving processes. Stock management. Managing and implementation of promotion. People management I open and close the store. Do end of day duties at the cash office.

Pros: I enjoy working with people
Cons: Can work retail hours

Learning curve

I am indeed a very dedicated and hardworking person, I have a friendly personality, which makes easier to get along with my co-workers. What have I learnt about my job most is communication skills, it makes one be open with others, learn about other people’s personalities and have a clear understanding with each other. What I enjoyed most is having a good relationship with my co-workers and my boss, it made me become more comfortable to speak out for example by being active in coming with ideas and inputs. The most challenging aspects of the job is that the job is demanding at most times, you need to be able on how to handle customers especially the demanding and frustrating ones.

Pros: opportunity for promotion
Cons: extra long hours

Great company culture

I look forward going to work everyday, not because I have to,but because of my colleagues and learners. When I am at work,it feels like leisure time because of the people that surround me,they make a typical day be filled with fun.I have learnt a lot with regards to retail being it be a new environment for me but what I enjoy the most is that the people treat you with respect and they very friendly here.Time and shift management is our biggest challenge because production must continue whilst the employees must also develop themselves at the same time but we have put measures in place that helped ease the pressure

Pros: Great opportunity to learn about the retail business
Cons: Marginelized

Diverse learning experience

It was a great company to work at but the salary was not worth the time, effort , passion and sacrifice one put into it . Other than that I loved what I did , the company I worked for and the people I worked with. A typical day was to : -motivate staff to achieve Store targets -To ensure daily store disciplines are in place -Ensure stock is replenished accurately and effectively -Focus on customer service and sales -Manage stock losses and shrinkage .

Pros: Career growth
Cons: Long working hours

Bettet enviromment for learning

It's a great learning environment with a lot of skill to gain, its an educational company as it teaches you about work ethics and good communication to people, were work extremely hard during the day 10 hours a dedicated day, with a buddy buddy system, ive learned to work with people work hard and understand the nature of the work that I'm doing,i enjoyed working with people assisting and learning new aspects, and the most challenging aspect of my job is working in an uncalm and unflexible environment.

Pros: great opportunity to learn and work with people
Cons: Long hours

Challenging environment

A typical day is not only doing your own work but the work of like three other people as well. The atmosphere is nice though because you and your team are like a family. The most challenging part is meeting the ridiculous budgets set while being under construction and also under staffed. You tend to learn quite a bit because you don't only do your own work but also where ever the need is.

Pros: Good benefits
Cons: Shifts and you work weekends
