It is great at woolworths it is just that the retail is to much of hours and less pay

A typical work day at woolworths is come in greet co workers start working there is ni asking how are you or how was your off days my relationship with co- workers is okay just there is an ice cold vibe like no one is cirpy or smiley I have learned a lot at Woolworths its just there really needed to be respect for one another what I enjoy mos is to be interactive with the cashiers and the controllers they are friendly and you can talk to them the most challenging aspect is the cold feeling from colleagues cause you never know should I laugh or should I be quiet or can I talk or when is it the right time to ask a question or help with something that you struggle with and the fact that when you make mistakes its like the whole earth stops in their world

Pros: My pros is I want to work in a environment where there is team play when one is stuck help them out of the loop and when one needs help them them guide them and always ask how the other persons is doing you never know what that one question can achieve it may be that , that person is dealing with something hard and you never even bothered to ask anything
Cons: My cons are I want to work from 8-5 and weekends of cause I have a family and family is important cause we will never get back lost family time and if there is a really big need at work for 2-3 extra hours than I will do it

Good place to work to

this company groomed me very well,I was given a chance to share my ideas in the meetings,I have learned how to work in a team and learn how other people think,I have learned how stay follow the rules of the company,as this is the very organise company,I have learned how to handle and treat different customers ,I have learned that If I wanna learn new things,I have focus and listen to what I'm being thought, and what I like mostly about the company is that a person is given many opportunities to develop him/her self with in the company. I have really enjoyed to be part of that store,if I can be given a chance again,I would really go back, but that a person can't be stake in one place,I want to learn other different things, and learn how other companies and industrie

Pros: A very good area to learn a lot
Cons: Normal retail working hours

Excellent learning curve

It was a great experience meeting new people everyday, and understand the policies and procedures of the company. Customers came angry as a staff member you had to make sure, that you do your job very well in so customers can come back. We worked very well with co-workers because there are times where we would be busy at the podiums you didn't have to ask other members to assist you would do it and make sure the queue is finished.

Pros: Good for school leavers
Cons: Not much promotion

Bettet enviromment for learning

It's a great learning environment with a lot of skill to gain, its an educational company as it teaches you about work ethics and good communication to people, were work extremely hard during the day 10 hours a dedicated day, with a buddy buddy system, ive learned to work with people work hard and understand the nature of the work that I'm doing,i enjoyed working with people assisting and learning new aspects, and the most challenging aspect of my job is working in an uncalm and unflexible environment.

Pros: great opportunity to learn and work with people
Cons: Long hours

Energetic and great learning experience

People in this business are very passionate about what they do, no one day is the same at woollies and literally its an experience of a lifetime. The pace is very fast you have to be able to think on your feet at all times - the challenge is explosive. I work with very friendly people which makes everyday at the office very pleasant, the working hours are extremely long The most challenging aspect is being a young black female in such a high level position for such a great company, its part of the thrill of the job more often than not.

Pros: No prospects of promotions
Cons: very long working hours

Good

My day starts at 9 am and I nock of at 6pm. I need to check emails, any new information that is sent from head office, check if all my access are still working and check if we are not offline. I need to be at least 15 mins before my shift because I won't be able to do all this if there are clients. I deal with difficult customers and very understanding ones. I need to take a tea break and lunch break sometimes that is impossible depending how many people are scheduled for the day. We are only four in my department so me and my team are very happy to work together I can cover their work and they can dk the same to me if maybe I cannot finish or if its them that can't. Managent is fine what I love the most is we have more than ten of them I can speak to any one I like about my job.

Pros: buying most things on promotion
Cons: working on weekend and public holidays
