Excellent learning curve

1St line technical support to resellers and direct clients for broadband packages including broadband fibre, LTE, wireless, ADSL and vodacom satellite. We provide 1St line checks if system is still down we then escalate to 2nd line support where we would be liaison with clients following up on the service request logged to the 2nd line support. I have learnt that updating your client and showing your willingness to assist is the key to best customer service. I enjoy bringing a smile to each and every client I assist. My challenge is when I request assistance from someone and they don't deliver assistance on time bringing a bad name to the company.

It was really great working there working hours were reasonable the culture and vibe were great theres is also growth we always had training so it was a great learning curve the team buildings were good we got to know and understand each other

Work life at Vodacom

Its a dynamic company that is continuously changing. The industry itself is dynamic. I work closely with Call centre operations as a produce report for the call centre performance daily, weekly and monthly. IO have a very close relationship with the business. Since I joined in January, I have learnt a lot about call centre operations, the systems and the data. The most challenging aspect of my job is the data quality and integrity

Pros: Dynamci enviromnent, one does not know what to expext in each day as call centre operates in the here and now
Cons: systems are not reliabel eand processes are not availabel sometimes

Work Experience

I am an Engineer with over 7 years telecommunications working experience. I have extensive experience in the GSM industry. I have worked in maintenance, planning, design, development and integration of charging services such as prepaid and postpaid billing. I am currently employed in Engineering Department where I do maintainance and support, convert customer needs into tangible products and services and also co-ordinate projects. I am a hard worker who possesses excellent planning and organising skills and have the ability to work well under pressure.

Vodacom is an awesome company to work for. People that work from Vodacom believe in the brand and what the company stands for. Vodacom is an Ethical company and promotes this within all levels of the organisation from top management to junior level. Vodacom is a social responsible company, not because they have too, but they believe in making a difference in every bodies lives.

Learning to adapt and face challenges head on

Working with a team as team to achieve a common goal which is to assist customers right the first time Getting along with your team members makes it to work inn a callcentre enviroment since your teammates are also your support system which makes the job easier especially when dealing with those challenging queries. Having to deal with customers over the phone can be a challenge especially those who are'nt familiar with the product they are using since you're unable to demonstrate to them and that's where I've learnt to be patient and work with them to get the query resolved and when all is done I feel proud that I have taught them how to resolved the problem on their own
